Mher Musheghi Mkrtchyan ( hy, Մհեր Մուշեղի Մկրտչյան; 4 July 1930 – 29 December 1993), better known by the name Frunzik ( hy, Ֆրունզիկ; russian: Фрунзик), was an Armenian stage and film actor. Mkrtchyan is widely considered one of the greatest actors of the Soviet period among Armenians and the USSR as a whole. He received the prestigious People's Artist of the USSR award in 1984. Karlen Mkrtchyan ( hy, Կառլեն Մկրտչյան; born 25 November 1988) is an Armenian professional footballer who most recently played as a midfielder for FC Pyunik in the Armenian Premier League. Career Club Pyunik Karlen Mkrtchyan is a graduate the Armenian football club school Pyunik Yerevan. Since 2007, he played for the first team. In the 2008 Armenian Premier League he played in all 28 games, and also took part in the final match against Ararat Yerevan, in which Pyunik won the Premier League. With Mkrtchyan as a member, Pyunik won the Armenian Premier League in 2007, 2008, 2009, 2010, the Armenian Cup in 2009 and 2010 and the Armenian Supercup in 2007, 2008 and 2010. Artur Aslani Mkrtchyan ( hy, Արթուր Ասլանի Մկրտչյան; 16 February 1959 – 14 April 1992) was the first Chairman of the Supreme Council of the Nagorno-Karabakh Republic, elected on 7 January 1992. He made an important contribution to reinforcing the defensive capabilities of the Nagorno-Karabakh Republic, but was fatally shot under unclear circumstances in April 1992. Biography Artur Mkrtchyan was born in 1959 in the village of Ukhtadzor in the Hadrut District of the Nagorno-Karabakh Autonomous Oblast. After graduating from the village secondary school in 1976, he entered the faculty of history at Yerevan State University. Alfred Ter-Mkrtchyan ( hy, Ալֆրեդ Տեր-Մկրտչյան, born 19 March 1971) is a former Armenian Greco-Roman wrestler for the Soviet Union, Unified Team, and Germany. He is an Olympic silver medalist and European Champion for the Unified Team and World Champion for Germany. Biography Ter-Mkrtchyan was born on 19 March 1971 in Yerevan. In 1985, he took up Greco-Roman wrestling in Moscow and became fascinated with the sport. He won the Junior European Championships in 1990 and competed as a senior from then on. Armen Mkrtchyan ( hy, Արմեն Մկրտչյան; born 6 October 1973) is an Armenian freestyle wrestler. He is an Olympic silver medalist, World Championships medalist, and European Champion. In addition, he was also awarded the Master of Sport of the USSR, International Class title in 1991 and the Honored Master of Sports of Armenia title in 1996. Samvel Suren Mkrtchyan (''Armenian: Սամվել Մկրտչյան'') (25 February 1959 – 7 December 2014) was an Armenian translator, editor and writer. Early life Mkrtchyan was born in Talin in the Armenian Soviet Socialist Republic. He graduated from Yerevan Brusov State University of Languages and Social Sciences. She founded and leads the Wikimedia Armenia chapter, which organizes outreach and workshops to improve the Armenian Wikipedia, including an annual conference.
