Mitchel Godden
Mitchel Stuart Godden 2021/2022/2023 Triple British Grasstarck 500cc Sidecar Champion. Team Godden / Smith Mitchel is an English Motorcycle rider who competes in Long track motorcycle racing, Longtrack and Grasstrack Racing for Solos (1992>) and more recently 500cc Sidecars (2015>) He is the son of Don Godden who won the Individual Speedway Long Track World Championship in 1969. Mitchel Godden followed in his fathers footsteps and started racing in 1992. He started on a 250cc (ex Jeremy Doncaster) Honda red Rocket and rode this for one season before using Don Godden, Godden works 350cc machine and then after a couple of seasons progressed to 500cc class. Mitch later progressed to international racing becoming a specialists on German Grasstracks and Dutch Sandtracks. He often travelled to many of his European meetings with other riders, notably Trevor Banks the late Vincent Kinchin and “Super” Dave Mears among others. Pembury
Pembury is a large village in Kent, in the south east of England, with a population of 6,128 at the 2011 Census. It lies just to the north-east of Royal Tunbridge Wells. Roden, Drenthe
Roden () is a town in the Dutch province of Drenthe. It is located in the municipality of Noordenveld, about 16 km (10 miles) southwest of Groningen. History The village was first mentioned in 1139 as Rothen, and means "settlement near a clearing in the forest". Roden is an ''esdorp'' which developed in the Early Middle Ages. It has a large ''brink'' (village square) near the church and a double triangular ''brink'' around what is nowadays called Julianaplein. Glen Phillips (speedway Rider)
Glen Alan Phillips (born 22 November 1982) in Farnborough, Kent, is a former motorcycle speedway rider from England. Career Phillips represented the Great Britain national speedway team at Under-21 level. His primary club while riding in the British speedway leagues was the Isle of Wight Islanders. He was part of the Isle of Wight four who won the Premier League Four-Team Championship, held on 8 July 2007, at the East of England Arena. In 2015, Phillips was part of the British team with Richard Hall, Andrew Appleton and James Shanes that won the world championship gold medal at the 2015 Team Long Track World Championship. It was the first time that Britain had won the event. Paul Hurry
Paul William George Hurry (born 9 April 1975 in Canterbury, Kent) is a British international motorcycle speedway rider. Hurry began his racing career aged 16 with the Arena Essex Hammers in 1991. In 1994 he became British under 21 champion and in 2000 he finished in second place at the British Speedway Championship. Hurry was selected to represent the Great Britain national speedway team at the 2001 Speedway World Cup Race-off, but the team failed to reach the final. After spells with various British clubs, Hurry returned to Arena Essex in 2004, where he stayed until 2007. He appeared to have retired from racing in 2007 due to ongoing problems with an arm injury, but returned to Elite League racing in 2009 to replace the injured Kyle Legault for Poole Pirates. In 2010, Hurry returned to ride for his first club, now renamed the Lakeside Hammers. Iwade Stadium
Iwade is a village and civil parish north of the town of Sittingbourne in the English county of Kent. History Iwade was established in the late Medieval period, when it was a settlement linking Watling Street to the coast via Key Street (a street towards a Quay). A moated dwelling is believed to have existed here during the 13th to 15th centuries. According to Edward Hasted, in 1798 the manor of Warde (Iwade) was within the hundred of Teynham. It had sixteen houses, and about 60 or 70 inhabitants. The village lies on the former route of the A249 road, a major road from Maidstone to the Isle of Sheppey. Collier Street
Collier Street is a small village and civil parish in the Borough of Maidstone in Kent, England. The village of Collier Street includes St Margaret's Church, a primary school, a small business estate and several farms. St. Margaret's church and school are at the centre of the village. The church forms part of a benefice with St. Mary's in Laddingford and St. Peter & St. Paul in Yalding. The three villages are located within three miles of each other but Collier Street, once part of Yalding's civil parish, has had its own parish since 1999.
