Misterio
''Misterio'' (''Mystery'') is a 1980 Mexican thriller film, directed and written by Marcela Fernández Violante. The film stars Juan Ferrara, as a TV star who blurs reality with the plot of the soap opera he is shooting. Helena Rojo plays Sandra, his co-star, while Víctor Junco is the TV director and Beatríz Sheridan is the screenwriter. ''Misterio'' is adapted from a novel written by Vicente Leñero, who adapted it for the screen. The film received eight Ariel Awards in 1980, including Best Actor (Ferrara), Best Actress (Rojo), Best Supporting Actor (Junco), and Best Supporting Actress (Sheridan). Elizabeth Ann Sheridan Scarbrough, better known as Beatriz Sheridan (25 June 1934 – 30 April 2006) was a Mexican actress and director. A pioneer of the Mexican telenovelas and prominent figure of the Mexican theater of the 20th century, she was also a teacher of dramatic technique for television and directed many great dramatic stars. María Elena Enríquez Ruiz (born August 18, 1944), known as Helena Rojo, is a Mexican actress and model. Biography Born in Mexico City, Mexico, she began her career as a model in the 1961. Toward the end of the decade, she studied drama with renowned Mexican directors Carlos Ancira and José Luis Ibáñez, making her film debut in 1968 in the film ''El club de los suicidas''. That same year, Rojo also appeared in her second film, ''Los amigos''. She continued working as a model and appearing in small film roles in the late 1960s and early 1970s. Juan Ferrara (born Juan Félix Gutiérrez Puerta; November 8, 1943) is a Mexican actor. Family Juan is a son of Ofelia Guilmáin and brother of Lucía Guilmáin y Esther Guilmáin. He was once married to the Mexican actress, Helena Rojo. He has two sons, actors Juan Carlos Bonet and Mauricio Bonet, with his first wife, Alicia Bonet. Vicente Leñero Otero (June 9, 1933 – December 3, 2014) was a Mexican novelist, journalist, and playwright. He wrote numerous books, stories, and plays, including a theatrical adaptation of Oscar Lewis's '' The Children of Sanchez.'' He was awarded the Premio Xavier Villaurrutia in 2001, and the following year he received the Premio Nacional de Ciencias y Artes de México ( National Prize of Arts and Sciences) for literature and linguistics.
