Beatriz Sheridan
Elizabeth Ann Sheridan Scarbrough, better known as Beatriz Sheridan (25 June 1934 – 30 April 2006) was a Mexican actress and director. A pioneer of the Mexican telenovelas and prominent figure of the Mexican theater of the 20th century, she was also a teacher of dramatic technique for television and directed many great dramatic stars. María del Pilar Pellicer López de Llergo (12 February 1938 – 16 May 2020) was a Mexican actress. At the 17th Ariel Awards, she won the Ariel Award for Best Actress for her performance in the film ''La Choca'' (1974). Biography Pilar was daughter of lawyer César Pellicer Sánchez and wife María del Pilar López de Llergo, both from Tabasco. Jaime Humberto Hermosillo Delgado (22 January 1942 – 13 January 2020) was a Mexican film director, often compared to Spain's Pedro Almodóvar. Born in Aguascalientes, Aguascalientes, in central Mexico, Hermosillo's films often explore the hypocrisy of middle-class Mexican values. He worked with Gabriel García Márquez on ''Mary My Dearest'' (1979) and ''The Summer of Miss Forbes'' (1988). His film ''Homework (1991 film), Homework'' (1991) was entered into the 17th Moscow International Film Festival where it won a Special Mention. At the time of his death Hermosillo was teaching film-making at the University of Guadalajara and had recently collaborated with his students on several projects. Arturo Ripstein y Rosen (born December 13, 1943) is a Mexican film director and screenwriter. Considered the "Godfather of independent Mexican cinema", Ripstein's work is generally characterized by "somber, slow-paced, macabre melodramas tackling existential loneliness", often with a grotesque-like edge.
