Missouri Route 33
Route 33 is a highway in western Missouri. Its northern terminus is at Route 6 in Maysville; its southern terminus is at U.S. Route 69 in Liberty. History Route 33 is one of the original 1922 state highways. Its northern terminus was at Route 8 (now U.S. Route 136) in southern DeKalb County. At Plattsburg, it turned west (modern Route 116) and then south on current U.S. Route 169. A branch route, Route 33A, left the former alignment and connected it with Lathrop. This branch is now part of the highway itself. Liberty, Missouri
Liberty is a city in and the county seat of Clay County, Missouri, United States and is a suburb of Kansas City, located in the Kansas City Metropolitan Area. As of the 2020 United States Census the population was 30,167. Liberty is home to William Jewell College. History Liberty was settled in 1822, and shortly later became the county seat of Clay County. The city was named for the American concept of liberty. In 1830, David Rice Atchison established a law office in Liberty. He was joined three years later by colleague Alexander William Doniphan. The two argued cases defending the rights of Mormon settlers in Jackson County, served Northwest Missouri in Missouri's General Assembly, and labored for the addition of the Platte Purchase to Missouri's boundaries. Osborn is a city in northern Clinton and southern DeKalb counties in the U.S. state of Missouri. The population was 374 at the 2020 census. The Clinton County portion of Osborn is part of the Kansas City, MO– KS Metropolitan Statistical Area, while the DeKalb County portion is part of the St. Joseph, MO–KS Metropolitan Statistical Area. U.S. Route 36 (US 36) in the state of Missouri is an expressway with many freeway sections, connecting Kansas to Illinois. From Cameron to the Illinois state line, it forms part of the principal route between Kansas City and Chicago, known as the Chicago–Kansas City Expressway. Plattsburg, Missouri
Plattsburg is a city in and the county seat of Clinton County, Missouri and is part of the Kansas City metropolitan area in the western part of the state, within the United States. It developed along the Little Platte River. As of the 2020 census, the city population was 2,222. History The area along the rivers had been occupied for thousands of years by indigenous peoples. Historic American Indian tribes in the area included the Ioway, Fox and Sac tribes, who ceded land to the United States in the Platte Purchase. This area became part of northwest Missouri.
