''Mission'' (russian: Командировка) is a 1961 Soviet drama film directed by Yuri Yegorov. Plot The film tells about the engineer-designer of agricultural machinery, who suddenly finds out that the tractor that he invented does not work, and he goes to help the collective farmers. Yevgeny Vesnik
Yevgeny Yakovlevich Vesnik (russian: Евге́ний Я́ковлевич Ве́сник; 15 January 1923 in Petrograd – 10 April 2009 in Moscow) was a Soviet and Russian actor. The son of Yakov Vesnik, the first director of the Kryvorizhstal plant, he fought the Germans in World War II. He worked at the Maly Theatre from 1963 and was named a People's Artist of the USSR in 1989, three years before his retirement from the stage. Career Primarily a comedian, Vesnik is remembered as the first Soviet actor to play the character of Ostap Bender. After he was remembered as Taratar in ''The Adventures of the Elektronic'' (1979), one of greatest Soviet films for children'. Among his other roles are the policeman in ''Old Khottabych'', boss of sport complex in ''Seven Old Men and a Girl'', procurator in ''Die Fledermaus'', commissioner in ''Charodei'' (1982), radist in ''Weather Is Good on Deribasovskaya, It Rains Again on Brighton Beach'' and many other films. Ivan Gerasimovich Lapikov (Russian: Иван Герасимович Лапиков; 7 July 1922 – 2 May 1993) was a Soviet and Russian actor. People's Artist of the USSR (1982). Biography Lapikov was born in the village of Gorny Balykley, near Tsaritsyn (now – Dubovsky District, Volgograd Oblast). He spent his childhood in Stalingrad. In 1939, he enrolled in drama school in Kharkov, where he studied for the following two years. After the World War II began, Ivan started to work in the Gorky Drama Theater (Stalingrad). There he worked until he removed to Moscow in 1963. In Moscow Lapikov joined the Film Actor's Theater-Studio. His first role in cinema was in the film ''The Reserve Player'' (1954). After ''The Chairman (1964 film)'' by Alexey Saltykov (1964), where the actor had played the brother of the lead character, Lapikov became famous. Mark Grigoryevich Fradkin (Марк Григорьевич Фрадкин, May 4, 1914 – April 4, 1990) was a Soviet composer, author of numerous popular songs (many of which were co-written with poet Yevgeny Dolmatovsky) and musical scores for forty films. In 1979, Mark Fradkin received the USSR State Prize and, in 1985, he was granted the status of the People’s Artist of the USSR. Biography Mark Fradkin was born in Vitebsk, Russian Empire (now Belarus), to a family of doctors. In the 1920s, having graduated from the technological secondary school, Mark joined a clothing factory in Vitebsk. After two years there, he joined the Third Belorussian Theatre as an actor (later musical administrator). In 1934, he enrolled in the Leningrad Theatre Institute where he started writing music.
