Miss Venezuela 1998 was the 45th Miss Venezuela pageant, was held in Caracas, Venezuela, on September 11, 1998, after weeks of events. The winner of the pageant was Carolina Indriago, Miss Delta Amacuro. The pageant was broadcast live on Venevision from the Poliedro de Caracas in Caracas, Venezuela. At the conclusion of the final night of competition, outgoing titleholder Veruska Ramírez crowned Carolina Indriago as the new Miss Venezuela. 30 delegates competed for the crown. Lucbel Carolina Indriago Pinto (born August 22, 1980, in Valencia) is a Venezuelan American show hostess and a pageant titleholder. She was born in Valencia, Venezuela on August 22, 1980. She is the first woman of noticeably African heritage to win the Miss Venezuela title. Baruta (pop. 317,288) is a municipality within the Metropolitan District of Caracas in Venezuela. Geography Baruta is located geographically in the South-East section of the city. Its western limit is the '' Los Chaguaramos'' neighborhood (which belongs to the Libertador Bolivarian Municipality) and limits to the east with the ''Colinas de Los Ruices'' neighborhood, in the Sucre Municipality. Apure (state)
Apure State ( es, Estado Apure, ) is one of the 23 states of Venezuela. Its territory formed part of the provinces of Mérida, Maracaibo, and Barinas, in accordance with successive territorial ordinations pronounced by the colonial authorities. In 1824 the Department of Apure was created, under jurisdiction of Barinas, which laid the foundations for the current entity. In 1856 it separated from Barinas and for the first time Apure appeared as an independent province, which in 1864 acquired the status of state. In 1881, however, a new territorial division combined Apure and Guayana to form a single state named ''Bolívar.''
