Miss Ukraine 2016, the 26th edition of the Miss Ukraine pageant was held at the October Palace in Kyiv on 2 September 2016. Twenty-five contestants from across Ukraine competed for the crown. The competition was hosted by Yuriy Horbunov and Kateryna Osadcha. Khrystyna Stoloka of Kyiv crowned her successor Oleksandra Kucherenko of Dnipro at the end of the event. Kucherenko represented Ukraine at the Miss World 2016 pageant where she unplaced. Kateryna Osadcha
Kateryna Osadcha (Ukrainian: Катерина Осадча; born 12 September 1983) is a Ukrainian journalist, host of the programs "Social Life", "The Voice of Ukraine" (1–3, 6–8 seasons) and "The Voice Kids" on the TV channel "1+1". Biography She was born on September 12, 1983, in Kyiv. Her father — Oleksandr Osadchyi, was a Director of Kyivprylad factory, while her mother is a housewife. She also has a younger brother. In addition to school, Osadcha was engaged in music and dance (she was a member of the choreographic ensemble "Little Falcons"). At the age of thirteen, she began her professional modeling career and graduated from the Bagira Agency's modeling school. Miss Ukraine 2017, the 27th edition of the Miss Ukraine pageant was held at the Palace "Ukraine" in Kyiv on 6 September 2017. Twenty-four contestants from across Ukraine competed for the crown. The competition was hosted by Yuriy Horbunov and Kateryna Osadcha. Oleksandra Kucherenko of Dnipro crowned her successor Polina Tkach of Kyiv at the end of the event. Tkach represented Ukraine at the Miss World 2017 pageant where she placed in the top 40. Miss World 2016, the 66th edition of the Miss World pageant, was held on December 18, 2016 at the MGM National Harbor, Oxon Hill, Maryland, United States. 117 contestants from all over the world competed for the crown. Mireia Lalaguna of Spain crowned her successor Stephanie Del Valle of Puerto Rico at the end of the event. It was the second time that the Miss World pageant held in the United States. It was the second time where Puerto Rico won Miss World, after Wilnelia Merced in 1975. Miss Ukraine (Міс України or Панна України, ''Panna Ukrayiny'') is a national Beauty pageant in Ukraine. Today it is one of the top three national beauty contests in Ukraine, others being Miss Ukraine Universe and Queen of Ukraine. October Palace
The October Palace () is a performing arts center in Kyiv, Ukraine. It is officially known as the International Center of Culture and Arts () of the Trade Union Federation of Ukraine, while October Palace is used for its brevity. History The building was constructed between 1838 and 1842 upon the design of architect Vikentiy Beretti as the Russian "Institute for Noble Maidens" (), hence the street where it was located was called Instytutska Street. After the revolution, the building was used by the government, including housing for Kyiv's Cheka (later known as the KGB).
