Miss Trans Global
Miss Trans Global is an annual international pageant for transgender women. According to itself, it is the biggest international advocacy pageant for transgender women. The event broadcasts live on multiple social networking websites from London, England. It has gained traction for transgender advocacy, raising awareness about queer culture and LGBT concerns, particularly in countries where transphobia and homophobia are prevalent. The pageant presents itself as a safe space for transgender women to share their lived experiences through speeches, talent shows, and art. Mela Habijan of the Philippines won the first edition of Miss Trans Global in an event held virtually on September 12, 2020. Sruthy Sithara of India won the second edition where she was the first Indian transgender woman to win an international transgender pageant. Miss Sahhara
Miss Sahhara (stylized as Miss saHHara) is a British Nigerian beauty queen and human rights advocate. With her 2011 participation in Miss International Queen, a beauty pageant in Pattaya for transgender women, Miss Sahhara became the first trans woman from Nigeria to come out in the international press. She subsequently founded a global transgender awareness news curation organisation called TransValid. Biography Miss Sahhara grew up in a small village in northern Nigeria. The Miss Nevada USA competition is the pageant that selects the representative for the state of Nevada in the Miss USA pageant. While Nevada did well in the early years of the Miss USA pageant, they only placed once from 1987 to 2000. This streak was broken by Gina Giacinto's finalist placing in Miss USA 2001. Many Miss Nevada USA titleholders previously competed in the Miss Teen USA and Miss America pageants. Kataluna Patricia Enriquez is an American beauty pageant titleholder. In March 2021, she won the Miss Silver State USA pageant. On June 27, 2021, she was crowned Miss Nevada USA. With her wins, she became the first openly transgender woman to earn the titles and to become qualified to compete in the Miss USA pageant. She is also the owner of a clothing line, Kataluna Kouture. Miss USA is an American beauty pageant that has been held annually since 1952 to select the entrant from United States in the Miss Universe pageant. The Miss Universe Organization operated both pageants, as well as Miss Teen USA, until 2020, when the organization announced it was licensing operation of the Miss USA and Miss Teen USA pageants to Crystle Stewart, Miss USA for 2008. Finn Mackay
Finn Mackay (born 1977/1978) is a British sociologist and Radical feminism, radical trans feminist campaigner. Mackay is a lecturer in sociology at the University of Bristol and identifies as "a queer Butch (lesbian slang), butch, or transmasc, identifying with much in the Transgender, trans-with-an-asterisk label". During their teenage years, Mackay was part of an all-women's peace camp, where they became involved in lesbian feminism. Mackay founded the London Feminist Network, a group helping victims of domestic violence, and has argued against pornographication.
