Miss Teen USA 1999
Miss Teen USA 1999, the 17th Miss Teen USA pageant, was televised live from Shreveport, Louisiana on 24 August 1999. At the conclusion of the final competition, Ashley Coleman of Delaware was crowned by outgoing queen Vanessa Minnillo of South Carolina. The pageant was hosted by newcomer Carson Daly with color commentary by Ali Landry and Julie Moran for the second year. Landry held the Miss Louisiana Teen USA 1990, Miss Louisiana USA 1996 and Miss USA 1996 titles, making the semi-finals at Miss Teen USA 1990 pageant before winning Miss USA 1996. During the pageant there were performances by Britney Spears and N'Sync. This was the second year that N'Sync provided entertainment. Ashley Coleman
Ashley Coleman (born 10 November 1981) is a former Miss Teen USA who won in 1999, representing her hometown of Camden and the state of Delaware. Coleman graduated from Caesar Rodney High School in 1999. Before winning her state title, she had modeled for Tommy Hilfiger, Rite Aid, Johnson & Johnson, Seventeen, and Teen People. Coleman won her first title, Miss Delaware Teen USA, in 1998 and won the Miss Teen USA 1999 title at Shreveport, Louisiana, on August 24, 1999. Coleman was crowned by Vanessa Minnillo of South Carolina and later gave up her title to Jillian Parry from Pennsylvania on August 26, 2000. The Miss Louisiana USA competition is the pageant that selects the representative for the state of Louisiana in the Miss USA pageant. Miss Louisiana USA is produced by RPM Productions since 1990, which also produces the Miss USA and Miss Teen USA state pageants for Alabama, North Carolina, and South Carolina. The Miss Virginia Teen USA competition is the pageant that selects the representative for the state of Virginia in the Miss Teen USA pageant. Virginia is one of the more successful states at Miss Teen USA, and is placed in the top twenty in terms of number and value of placement Their most successful decade was the 1980s. The Miss Texas Teen USA competition is the pageant that selects the representative for the state of Texas in the Miss Teen USA pageant. This pageant is part of the Miss USA organization, owned by Texas native Crystle Stewart, who was Miss USA for 2008. Danielle Demski (born 1981) is a television presenter, actress, and beauty queen from Chandler, Arizona, who has competed in the Miss Teen USA and Miss USA pageants. Demski won her first pageant title in 1998, when she was crowned Miss Arizona Teen USA 1999. She competed in the Miss Teen USA 1999 pageant held in Shreveport, Louisiana, in August 1999, where she became the third delegate from Arizona to make the semi-finals.
