Miss Teen USA 1986
Miss Teen USA 1986, the 4th Miss Teen USA pageant, was televised live from Ocean Center, Daytona Beach, Florida on January 21, 1986. At the conclusion of the final competition, Allison Brown of Oklahoma was crowned by outgoing queen Kelly Hu of Hawaii. This was the first year the pageant was held in Daytona Beach, although it had been staged in Miami the previous year. The pageant was hosted by Michael Young, the host from 1983 to 1984 who returned from hosting after a break in 1985. Allison Brown
Allison Elaine Brown (born August 23, 1968) is an American actress and beauty queen who was Miss Teen USA 1986. Brown also competed in the Miss USA pageant. Biography Brown grew up in Edmond, Oklahoma, and attended Edmond Memorial High School. She was born to Susanne and H. Jack Brown. Her mother, who had Native American roots, was a feminist who once picketed beauty pageants. Her Irish father was a vascular surgeon who died in the Spring of 1987. Brown won the Miss Oklahoma Teen USA 1986 title after finishing first runner-up the previous year. She then competed at Miss Teen USA 1986 pageant where she became the first titleholder from Oklahoma to win the Miss Teen USA title. She reigned as Miss Teen USA for 18 months, longer than any titleholder at the time. This was later surpassed by Kaliegh Garris in October 2020. Miss Arizona Teen USA
The Miss Arizona Teen USA competition is the pageant that selects the representative for the state of Arizona in the Miss Teen USA pageant and the title held by that winner. The first Arizona Teen to place at Miss Teen USA was Jeri-Lynn Beatty who made the top 12 in 1990. Three more Arizona teens have gone on to win the Miss Arizona USA title, including Danielle Demski, one of only two to place in the top five or six at Miss Teen USA. Demski later built a career as a television presenter. The current Miss Arizona Teen USA is MayaDenise Gaskin of Phoenix and was crowned in Gilbert on May 30, 2022. The Miss Arkansas Teen USA competition is the beauty pageant, pageant that selects the representative for the state of Arkansas in the Miss Teen USA pageant. The state pageant was directed by Premier Pageants from 2002 to 2007 before becoming part of the Vanbros organization, headquartered in Lenexa, Kansas. Miss West Virginia Teen USA
The Miss West Virginia Teen USA competition is the pageant that selects the representative for the state of West Virginia in the Miss Teen USA pageant. This pageant is independently conducted and produced by Sanders & Associates, Inc., dba- Pageant Associates based in Buckhannon, West Virginia. Despite a relatively strong start in the 1980s, with two semi-finals finishes, no Miss West Virginia Teen USA placed from 1988 to 2005, when Andrea Turner placed 2nd runner-up to Allie LaForce of Ohio. After this, West Virginia had more success, with more placements in 2007, 2011, 2012, 2013, 2014, 2017 and 2018. Miss New Mexico Teen USA
The Miss New Mexico Teen USA competition is a pageant that selects the representative for the state of New Mexico in the broader Miss Teen USA pageant. It is directed by Laura's Productions based in El Paso, Texas. New Mexico has seen six state teens place in the Miss Teen USA pageant with three of these placements occurring during the 1980s, which and made New Mexico one of the more successful states in that decade. The Miss New Jersey Teen USA competition is the pageant that selects the representative for the state of New Jersey in the Miss Teen USA pageant. New Jersey has had a moderated success at Miss Teen USA, with ten placements. In the first twenty years of the competition, New Jersey only recorded three placements; from 2003 they placed in four of five years. The Miss Florida Teen USA competition is the pageant that selects the representative for the state of Florida in the Miss Teen USA pageant. Florida ties with Illinois and North Carolina for most Miss Photogenic awards (3). These were won in a successive streak from 1996 to 1998.
