Hidden Treasures Miss Nepal 2009, 15th Miss Nepal contest took place on September 25, 2009, at the Tribhuvan Army Club in Kathmandu. There were 16 young women, aged 18 years and above, shortlisted for the final. Miss Nepal 1994, Ruby Rana, crowned the new Fem Miss Nepal 2009 on 25 September 2009. The winner, Zenisha Moktan, represented Nepal at Miss World 2009, and the 1st Runner Up Richa Thapa Magar represented Nepal at Miss Earth 2009. Nepal Television
Nepal Television ( ne, नेपाल टेलिभिजन), shortened to NTV is the Nepalese national public state-controlled television broadcaster. It is the oldest and most watched television channel in Nepal. The news broadcast at 8:00 PM is the channel's most popular show, followed by comedy programmes such as Sakkigoni, Mundre Ko Comedy Club and Meri Bassai. It also has four sister channels, NTV PLUS, NTV News, NTV Kohalpur and NTV Itahari, all owned by the Nepalese government. The network started broadcasting in HD from 31 January 2019. Several attempts are being made by media stakeholders to convert and transform NTV into a truly Public Service Broadcasting (PSB) entity. Miss Nepal 2007
Dabur Vatika Miss Nepal 2007, the 12th Miss Nepal pageant held on April 7, 2007, at the Birendra International Conference Convention Centre in Nepal. It was won by Sitashma Chand, of Lalitpur. The event was surrounded by heavy protests from Maoist and Feminist activists. The show was broadcast live by Nepal Television but suffered from minor technical glitches. The chief judge of the event, Kollywood actor Rajesh Hamal, asked the top 5 finalists, "Are all traditions to be followed without question or do they need to be discussed and amended?" The contestants were supported by fashion designer groups INIFD, NEFT, Lakhotia and others. The event differed from previous pageants in that it featured modifications of Nepal's traditional ethnic dresses. Designs from INIFD (International Institute of Fashion Design) were judged to be better than the dresses from competing designers. Hidden Treasures Miss Nepal 2010, the 16th Miss Nepal pageant was held on September 1, 2010, at the Tribhuvan Army Club in Kathmandu. There were 18 women, aged 19 years and above, who had been shortlisted for the final. Miss Nepal 2009 winner Zenisha Moktan crowned her successor Sadichha Shrestha in the finale event at Tribhuvan Army Club. The winner, Sadichha Shrestha, represented Nepal at Miss World 2010, 1st Runner Up Sahana Bajracharya represented Nepal at Miss Earth 2010, and 2nd Runner Up Sanyukta Timsina represented Nepal at Miss International 2010. Miss Nepal ( ne, मिस नेपाल) is a national beauty pageant in Nepal. The winners are sent to Miss World, Miss Earth, Miss International, Miss Supranational. History Ever since the pageant started from 1994, historically the winner of the Miss Nepal pageant represented the Nepal in the Miss Asia Pacific. After 1997, the Hidden Treasures collaborated with Kathmandu Jaycees and formed two pageants of Kathmandu Jacyees Miss Nepal and Hidden Treasures Miss World Nepal. Ruby Rana (born 1972) is a Nepalese model, actress and beauty pageant title holder. She was crowned as the first ever Miss Nepal in 1994. She competed for the Miss Nepal title after winning the title of Miss Birgunj in 1994. She has also acted in couple of Nepalese films and was the judge of the first season of ''Mega Model'', a modeling-based reality show. Biography She was born on 22 September 1972 in Kathmandu, Nepal. Miss World 2009, the 59th edition of the Miss World pageant, was held on 12 December 2009 at the Gallagher Convention Centre in Johannesburg, South Africa. 112 contestants from all over the world competed for the crown, marking the biggest turnout in the pageant's history. Ksenia Sukhinova of Russia crowned her successor Kaiane Aldorino of Gibraltar at the end of event. It is the first time that someone from Gibraltar won Miss World. Miss Earth 2009
Miss Earth 2009, the 9th edition of the Miss Earth pageant, was held on November 22, 2009 at the Boracay Ecovillage Resort and Convention Center in Boracay, Malay, Aklan, Philippines. Karla Henry of Philippines crowned her successor Larissa Ramos of Brazil at the end of the event. The pageant had 80 delegates from various countries and territories that vied for the Miss Earth crown. The pageant's Top 16 competed on both swimsuit and evening gown competitions to determine the Top 8, the first time since 2003. The Miss Earth 2009 theme was "Green Lifestyle", in which the candidates were involved with environmental causes. The show was hosted by Marc Nelson, Sarah Meier, and Borgy Manotoc. Jhapa ( ne, झापा जिल्ला; ) is a district of Province No. 1 in eastern Nepal named after a Rajbanshi word "Jhapa" meaning "to cover" (verb). The latest official data, the 2021 Nepal Census, puts the total population of the district at 994,090. The total area of the district is 1,606 square kilometres. Nuwakot District ( ne, नुवाकोट जिल्ला, a part of Bagmati Province, is one of the seventy-seven districts of Nepal.
