Miss Guam is a national beauty pageant in Guam. History 1965-2000 Miss Guam was founded in 1965 by the Guam Beauty Organization to spread the håfa adai spirit, promote and showcase Guam culture and to make friends from around the globe. In early Miss Guam selected the winner to Miss Universe. Since 2008, the winner represents Guam at the Miss Universe pageant and additionally Guam returned to Miss International and from Miss Guam org. a runner-up represents Guam at the Miss International pageant. 2008-Present In 2008, Miss Guam was renamed as Miss Universe Guam to choose representatives for the Miss Universe and Miss International pageants. A beauty pageant is a competition that has traditionally focused on judging and ranking the physical attributes of the contestants. Pageants have now evolved to include inner beauty, with criteria covering judging of personality, intelligence, talent, character, and charitable involvement, through private interviews with judges and answers to public on-stage questions. The term beauty pageant refers originally to the Big Four international beauty pageants. Brittany Bell
Brittany Mesa Bell (born November 9, 1987) is an American model, dancer, and beauty pageant titleholder who was crowned Miss Guam 2014 and represented Guam at Miss Universe 2014, where she was unplaced. She had previously been crowned Miss Arizona USA 2010 and represented Arizona in Miss USA 2010. Career Bell was born and raised in Barrigada, Guam, to a Chamorro mother and a father of Native American, West Indian and Black American heritage. Agana Heights ( ch, Tutuhan) is one of the nineteen villages in the United States territory of Guam. It is located in the hills south of Hagåtña (formerly Agana), in the central part of the island. Chalan Pago-Ordot ( ch, Chålan Pågu-Otdot) is a village in the United States territory of Guam, containing the communities of Chalan Pago and Ordot. It is located in the eastern-central part of the island and is part of the Kattan (Eastern) District. The village's population has increased slightly since the island's 2010 census. Etymology ''Pågu'' is the Chamorro word for the wild tree ''Hibiscus tiliaceus'', while "''chålan''"' means "road". Dededo ( ch, Dedidu; formerly in Spanish: , in Japanese: , ''Dededo'') is the most populated village in the United States territory of Guam. According to the U.S. Census Bureau, Dededo's population was just under 45,000 in 2020. The village is located on the coral plateau of Northern Guam.
