Miss Grand Peru
Miss Grand Peru is a national beauty pageant title bestowed upon a woman chosen to represent Peru at the annual international pageant, Miss Grand International. The title was first mentioned in 2014 when a finalist of Miss World Peru 2014, Sophía Venero, was appointed to represent the country at the Miss Grand International 2014 in Thailand. Since 2016, to date, the license of Miss Grand Peru has been belonging to the event organizer headed by Jessica Newton, Grupo D'Elite. Previously, the license belonged to a medical doctor and lawyer, Hanssel Vega. Since its first participation in 2014, Peru won the Miss Grand International twice; in 2017 and 2023 by María José Lora and Luciana Fuster, respectively. Peru also won the Best National Costume awards in 2018, 2021 and 2022. Beauty Pageant
A beauty pageant is a competition that has traditionally focused on judging and ranking the physical attributes of the contestants. Pageants have now evolved to include inner beauty, with criteria covering judging of personality, intelligence, talent, character, and charitable involvement, through private interviews with judges and answers to public on-stage questions. The term beauty pageant refers originally to the Big Four international beauty pageants. Pageant titles are subdivided into Miss, Mrs. or Ms., and Teen – to clearly identify the difference between pageant divisions. Hundreds and thousands of beauty contests are held annually, but the Big Four are considered the most prestigious, widely covered and broadcast by media. Miss Grand Peru 2024
Miss Grand Peru 2024 was the second edition of the Miss Grand Peru pageant, organized on September 21, 2024, at the La Plaza Central de Punchana in Punchana, Maynas Province. Candidates from thirteen regions and cities competed for the title. The pageant was won by the representative of Callao, Arlette Rujel, who was crowned by Miss Grand Peru 2023, Luciana Fuster. Rujel will represent Peru at the Miss Grand International 2024 pageant, to be held on October 25, 2024, in Thailand. This edition is also the first Miss Grand Peru contest for which the regional license was delivered to local organizers. Background In this edition, the Miss Grand Peru team distributed the competition licenses to several local organizers who either organized an event to select their state representative or appointed an eligible girl to the title.
