Miss Grand Nicaragua
Miss Grand Nicaragua is an annual national women's beauty pageant in Nicaragua founded by a León-based designer "Saúl Benítez" in 2020, aiming to select the country representative to compete at Miss Grand International. Formerly, throughout 2014–2017, the license of the contest belonged to Miss Mundo Nicaragua and Miss Nicaragua but the country representatives were either appointed or determined through the main contest of such organizations. The first time ever Miss Grand Nicaragua was ''María Alejandra Gross Rivera'' from Managua. The reining Miss Grand Nicaragua is ''Glennys Medina Segura'' from Rivas. She will represent Nicaragua at Miss Grand International 2023 in Ho Chinh Minh City, Vietnam on October 25, 2023. Vos TV
Vos TV, formerly ESTV, is a Nicaraguan Terrestrial television, terrestrial TV channel (cable until 2010) broadcasting from the city of Managua. Miss Grand International 2017 was the fifth edition of the Miss Grand International pageant, held on October 25, 2017 at the Vinpearl Phu Quoc Resort and Villas Convention Hall, Phú Quốc, Vietnam. Contestants from seventy-seven countries and territories competed for the title, of whom María José Lora of Peru was announced the winner and was crowned by Miss Grand International 2016, Ariska Putri Pertiwi of Indonesia, while the representatives of the Czech Republic, Philippines, Puerto Rico, and Venezuela were named the runners-up. Miss Grand International 2016 was the 4th Miss Grand International pageant, held at the Westgate International Theater in Las Vegas, Nevada, United States on 25 October 2016. being the first occasion in the history of the contest that this moves to the American continent, and candidates from 74 countries and autonomous territories around the world competed for the title. Miss Grand International 2014 was the second edition of the Miss Grand International pageant, held on October 7, 2014, at the Indoor Stadium Huamark, Bangkok, Thailand. Contestants from eighty-five countries and territories competed for the title, of whom the representative of Cuba, Daryanne Lees, was announced the winner and received a reward of 40,000 USD cash. Meanwhile, the representatives of Australia, Canada, Colombia, and Ethiopia were named the runners-up. Carazo Department
Carazo () is a department in Nicaragua. It covers an area of 1,081 km2 and has a population of 198,395 (2021 estimate). The capital is Jinotepe. Geography Much of the department consists of a large plain sloping gently down towards the Pacific Ocean. The main urban centres are Diriamba and Jinotepe in the interior. The adjoining departments are Managua, Masaya, Granada and Rivas. The climate is tropical with the temperature varying between 28 and 32 °C (82 and 90 °F). The hottest months are April and May. Rivas () is a department of the Republic of Nicaragua. It covers an area of 2,162 km2 and has a population of 183,611 (2021 estimate). The department's capital is the city of Rivas.
