Miss Distrito Federal
Miss Distrito Federal, formerly called Miss Brasília, is a Brazilian Beauty pageant which selects the representative for the Federal District (Brazil), Brazilian Federal District at the Miss Brazil contest. The pageant was created in 1959 and has been held every year since with the exception of 1990–1991, 1993, and 2020. The pageant is held annually with representation of several municipalities. Since 2019, the State director of Miss Distrito Federal is, Mayck Carvalho. Beauty Pageant
A beauty pageant is a competition that has traditionally focused on judging and ranking the physical attributes of the contestants. Pageants have now evolved to include inner beauty, with criteria covering judging of personality, intelligence, talent, character, and charitable involvement, through private interviews with judges and answers to public on-stage questions. The term beauty pageant refers originally to the Big Four international beauty pageants. Pageant titles are subdivided into Miss, Mrs. or Ms., and Teen – to clearly identify the difference between pageant divisions. Hundreds and thousands of beauty contests are held annually, but the Big Four are considered the most prestigious, widely covered and broadcast by media. Cruzeiro, Federal District
Cruzeiro is an administrative region in the Federal District in Brazil. Created in 1965, Cruzeiro is divided into two broad sections: the original town, Cruzeiro Velho, made up mostly of one- and two-story houses, and the 1970 Cruzeiro Novo, made up of several similar four-story buildings. History Cruzeiro was originally conceived as residential area to host public servants from the old capital, Rio de Janeiro whose workplaces would be moved to Brasília, such as clerical workers, firemen, policemen and military officers and their families. Cruzeiro hosts two military areas, one of which contains the Armed Forces Hospital (HFA) and the Urban Military Sector (SMU), a military housing project. Miss Brazil 2011
The Miss Brazil 2011, the 57th edition of the Miss Brazil pageant, was held in São Paulo on July 23, 2011. The winner was Priscila Machado, who went on to represent Brazil in the 2011 Miss Universe pageant. The 1st runner-up went on to and the 2nd runner-up participated in Miss Continente Americano 2011. Twenty-seven delegates from each state and the Federal District competed for the crown. The current titleholder, Débora Lyra of Minas Gerais, crowned her successor at the end of the event. Marthina Brandt of Rio Grande do Sul crowned her successor Raissa Santana of Paraná at the end of the event. Santana represented Brazil at the Miss Universe 2016 pageant and placed in the Top 13.
