Miss Brazil 2008 ( pt, Miss Brasil 2008) was the 54th edition of the Miss Brazil pageant. It was held on 13 April 2008 at Citibank Hall in São Paulo, São Paulo State, Brazil and was hosted by Nayla Micherif and Guilherme Arruda with Renata Fan as a commentator. Natália Guimarães of Minas Gerais crowned her successor Natálya Anderle of Rio Grande do Sul at the end of the event. Anderle represented Brazil at the Miss Universe 2008 pageant. 1st Runner-Up, Vanessa Vidal of Ceará represented the country at Miss International 2008. Vibra São Paulo (formerly known as Credicard Hall) is a music theatre in the Santo Amaro neighbourhood, city of São Paulo, Brazil. It opened in September 1999, with capacity for 7,000 people. Miss Brazil ( pt, Miss Brasil) is a Brazilian national beauty pageant, held annually since 1954. The competition has gone through several incarnations throughout its history, while its main purpose has been to select the Brazilian representative for the Miss Universe pageant. Miss International 2008, the 48th Miss International pageant, was held on November 8, 2008 at The Venetian Macao in Macau, the presenters are Eric Tsang, Dodo Cheng, Astrid Chan. 63 contestants from all over the world competed for the crown, marking the biggest turnout in the 48 years of the pageant, surpassing the previous of 61 during last year pageant. Vanessa Lima Vidal also simply known as Vanessa Vidal (born 3 March 1984) is a Brazilian deaf female model, beauty pageant contestant and beach volleyball player. Career Vidal was the first deaf beauty pageant contestant to compete at the Miss Brasil in 2008. Vanessa Vidal is also a national deaf beach volleyball player and has competed at the 2013 Summer Deaflympics representing the national deaf beach volleyball team. Miss Universe 2008 was the 57th Miss Universe pageant, held at the Crown Convention Center in Nha Trang, Vietnam on July 14, 2008. This was the first time that the Miss Universe pageant was broadcast in 1080i High-definition. At the end of the event, Riyo Mori of Japan crowned Dayana Mendoza as Miss Universe 2008.
