Miss Brazil 2006
Miss Brazil 2006 ( pt, Miss Brasil 2006) was the 52nd edition of the Miss Brazil pageant. It was held on 8 April 2006 at Claro Hall in Rio de Janeiro, Rio de Janeiro State, Brazil and was hosted by Nayla Micherif and Nivaldo Prieto. Carina Beduschi of Santa Catarina crowned her successor Rafaela Zanella of Rio Grande do Sul at the end of the event. Zanella represented Brazil at the Miss Universe 2006 pageant and placed in the Top 20. 1st Runner-Up, Maria Cláudia Barreto of Acre, represented the country at Miss International 2006. This year's pageant had Natalie Glebova, Miss Universe 2005, as a special guest. Qualistage is a music venue, in the city of Rio de Janeiro, Brazil. The venue has a capacity of 8,450 spectators, but can have four different configurations. The competition has gone through several incarnations throughout its history, while its main purpose has been to select the Brazilian representative for the Miss Universe pageant. Miss Universe 2005
Miss Universe 2005 was the 54th Miss Universe pageant, held at the Impact Arena in Nonthaburi Province, Bangkok Metropolitan Region, Thailand on May 31, 2005,. At the end of the event, Jennifer Hawkins of Australia crowned Natalie Glebova of Canada as Miss Universe 2005. This is the second time that Canada has won Miss Universe. 81 contestants competed in this year. Natalie Glebova (born Natalya Vladimirovna Glebova; 11 November 1981) is a Russian-Canadian television host, author, dancer, model and beauty queen who was crowned Miss Universe 2005. Glebova had previously been crowned Miss Universe Canada 2005. Early life and education Glebova was born in Tuapse, Russia, to parents Vladimir Slezin and Anna Glebova. The contestants arrived in Tokyo, Japan on October 12 and the finals was held on November 11, 2006 at the Beijing Exhibition Center in Beijing, China. 53 contestants competed. Acre (state)
Acre () is a state located in the west of the North Region of Brazil and the Amazonia Legal. Miss Universe 2006 was the 55th Miss Universe pageant, held at the Shrine Auditorium in Los Angeles, California, United States on July 23, 2006. At the end of the event, Natalie Glebova of Canada crowned Zuleyka Rivera of Puerto Rico as Miss Universe 2006. It is Puerto Rico's fifth victory in the pageant's history. Carina Schlichting Beduschi (born December 19, 1984) is a Brazilian actress, TV host, architect, model and beauty queen who represented Brazil at the Miss Universe 2005. Beduschi was elected as the 51st Miss Brasil on 14 April 2005 at Copacabana Palace Hotel in Rio de Janeiro. Before competing at Miss Brasil, she had won Miss Santa Catarina 2005 contest.
