Miss Alagoas
Miss Alagoas is a Brazilian Beauty pageant which selects the representative for the State of Alagoas at the Miss Brazil contest. The pageant was created in 1955 and has been held every year since with the exception of 1990–1991, 1993, 2020, and 2022. The pageant is held annually with representation of several municipalities. Since 2023, the State director for Miss Alagoas is Carolina Borsatto. Alagoas still has yet to win any crowns in the national contest. Beauty Pageant
A beauty pageant is a competition that has traditionally focused on judging and ranking the physical attributes of the contestants. Pageants have now evolved to include inner beauty, with criteria covering judging of personality, intelligence, talent, character, and charitable involvement, through private interviews with judges and answers to public on-stage questions. The term beauty pageant refers originally to the Big Four international beauty pageants. Pageant titles are subdivided into Miss, Mrs. or Ms., and Teen – to clearly identify the difference between pageant divisions. Hundreds and thousands of beauty contests are held annually, but the Big Four are considered the most prestigious, widely covered and broadcast by media. Piranhas, Alagoas
Piranhas is a historic municipality near the western limit of the State of Alagoas, in the Northeast Region of Brazil. Located on the banks of the São Francisco River, on the border with the State of Sergipe, Piranhas was founded in 1891 and originally named Floriano Peixoto (in honor of the Army General who was one of the founders of the Republic and was later elected President). It was also known as ''Porto de Piranhas'', because fishermen caught piranhas (a carnivorous predator fish) there. History The town was founded in 1891. Miss Brazil 2011
The Miss Brazil 2011, the 57th edition of the Miss Brazil pageant, was held in São Paulo on July 23, 2011. The winner was Priscila Machado, who went on to represent Brazil in the 2011 Miss Universe pageant. The 1st runner-up went on to and the 2nd runner-up participated in Miss Continente Americano 2011. Twenty-seven delegates from each state and the Federal District competed for the crown. The current titleholder, Débora Lyra of Minas Gerais, crowned her successor at the end of the event. Miss Brazil World 2014
Miss Brazil World 2014 was the 25th edition of the Miss Brazil World pageant and the 9th under MMB Productions & Events. The contest took place on August 9, 2014. Each state, the Federal District (Brazil), Federal District and various Insular Islands competed for the title. Sancler Frantz of Ilha dos Lobos crowned her successor, Julia Gama of Rio Grande do Sul at the end. Gama represented Brazil at Miss World 2014. Miss Brazil 2015 ( pt, Miss Brasil 2015), officially Miss Brazil Be Emotion 2015 ( pt, Miss Brasil Be Emotion 2015), was the 61st edition of the Miss Brazil pageant. It was held on 18 November 2015 at Citibank Hall in São Paulo, and was hosted by Cássio Reis and Mariana Weickert.
