Mirchi (film)
''Mirchi'' () is a 2013 Indian Telugu-language action drama film written and directed by debutante Koratala Siva, and produced by UV Creations. The film stars Prabhas, Anushka Shetty and Richa Gangopadhyay with Sathyaraj, Nadhiya, Sampath Raj, Adithya Menon, Subbaraju and Brahmanandam featuring in supporting roles. The film was tentatively titled ''Vaaradhi'', but was later renamed as ''Mirchi''. ''Mirchi'' was one of the highest grossing Telugu films of the year 2013. The film has received six state Nandi Awards, including Nandi Award for Best Feature Film (Gold), and Nandi Award for Best First Film of a Director for 2013. Kailash Kher won Filmfare Award for Best Male Playback Singer – Telugu, and Nandi Award for Best Male Playback Singer for the song ''Pandagala Digivacchavu''. Iqbal Mirchi
Mohammad Iqbal Memon (25 April 1950 – 14 August 2013), known as Iqbal Mirchi, was an Indian underworld figure, known as the right-hand man of India's most wanted criminal, Dawood Ibrahim. Mirchi was often called a drug baron for his thriving narcotics business across Asia, Africa and Europe. On 1 June 2004, he was sanctioned under the Foreign Narcotics Kingpin Designation Act. Mirchi first gained notoriety in the early 1990s as one of the world's top drug lords, and a major figurehead in the 1993 Bombay bombings. Memon's family originally owned shops selling chillies and spices and thus he got the nickname 'Mirchi' (). Mirchi's fortunes soared after he began smuggling in banned meth tablets, heroin and Mandrax. He also owned a disco called The Fisherman's Wharf at Worli seafront in Mumbai which was a hotbed for narcotics. Radio Mirchi (also known as 98.3 Mirchi) is a nationwide network of private FM radio stations in India. It is owned by the ENIL, EntertainmentNetwork India Ltd (ENIL), which is one of the subsidiaries of The Times Group. ''Mirchi'' is Hindi for red chillis. The tagline of Radio Mirchi is "Mirchi Sunnewaale Always Khush!" ("Mirchi Listeners are Always Happy!"). It is the first privately owned radio station in India. Radio Mirchi maintains weekly music charts (or record charts) for India.
