Mirat Sarsembayev
Mirat Sarsembayev (born July 13, 1986) is a Kazakhs, Kazakh former professional boxer who competed from 2009 to 2010. As an amateur boxing, amateur, Sarsembayev won a bronze medal at the 2005 World Amateur Boxing Championships and represented Kazakhstan at the 2008 Olympics as a flyweight. Career At the 2005 World Championships he beat Don Broadhurst and Walid Cherif but lost the semifinal to Cuban southpaw Andry Laffita. He was a member of the Kazakhstan national team that competed at the 2005 Boxing World Cup in Moscow, Russia. At the 2006 Asian Games he lost the quarterfinal to Somjit Jongjohor (11:20), and at the 2007 World Championships he lost to the same opponent (8:17). At the 2008 Olympics he beat Rafał Kaczor of Poland (14:5) but lost to Russian Georgy Balakshin (4:12). Super bantamweight, also known as junior featherweight, is a weight class in professional boxing, contested from and up to . There were attempts by boxing promoters in the 1920s to establish this weight class, but few sanctioning organizations or state athletic commissions would recognize it. Jack Wolf won recognition as champion when he beat Joe Lynch at Madison Square Garden on September 21, 1922, but afterwards the weight division fell into disuse. The division was revived in the 1970s and the first title fight in 54 years in the division took place in 1976 when the World Boxing Council recognized Rigoberto Riasco as its champion when he defeated Waruinge Nakayama in eight rounds. Somjit Jongjohor ( th, สมจิตร จงจอหอ, , ; born January 19, 1975) is an amateur Thai boxer best known for winning gold medals in the flyweight division at the 2003 World Amateur Boxing Championships and at the Beijing 2008 Olympics. Career Somjit won the Asian Games 2002. In the 2003 World Amateur Boxing Championships final in his home country he beat Frenchman Jérôme Thomas, who went on to win Olympic silver in 2004. At the Olympics 2004, Somjit had bad luck with the draw and was outpointed by Cuban eventual winner Yuriorkis Gamboa. Cholpon-Ata ( ky, Чолпон-Ата, ''Çolpon-Ata'', چولپون-اتا, pronounced , literally "Venus-father", the name of a mythological protecting spirit) is a resort town on the northern shore of Lake Issyk-Kul in Kyrgyzstan with a population of 14,237 (2021). It is the administrative center of the Issyk-Kul District of Issyk-Kul Region; this district occupies most of the lake's north shore. To the west along highway A363 is Tamchy and to the east, Bosteri. The town contains numerous large and small sanatoria, hotels and guesthouses to accommodate the many visitors who descend upon the lake in summer.
