Miranda Miller (born 23 September 1950) is an English novelist who has also published short stories and a book of interviews with homeless women and politicians. Biography She was born in London, the daughter of Alan Hyman and the youngest of four children (including the artist Timothy Hyman and Afghan scholar Anthony Hyman). Alan Hyman
Alan Maurice Hyman (10 January 1910 – 23 February 1999) was an English writer, journalist, and film writer. Life and work Alan Hyman was the son of A. Hyman. He was educated at St Cyprian's School, Repton School, and Magdalene College, Cambridge. He became a journalist and worked on the staff of the ''Daily Sketch'' and '' Sunday Graphic'' from 1929 to 1932. Then he became a screenwriter and spent much of his life in the film industry. At Gaumont, he worked for Michael Balcon and collaborated on the scripts of ''Sunshine Suzie'' and ''Falling in Love''. Subsequently, he worked with Herbert Wilcox on ''Three Maxims'' and ''Victoria the Great'' and then with Thorold Dickinson as co-author of the script for the film ''The Arsenal Stadium Mystery'' in 1939. Timothy Hyman
Timothy Hyman (born 1946) is a British figurative painter, art writer and curator. He has published monographs on both Sienese Painting and on Pierre Bonnard, as well as most recently ''The World New Made: Figurative Painting in the Twentieth Century.'' He has written extensively on art and film, has been a regular contributor to ''The Times Literary Supplement'' and has curated exhibitions at the Tate, Institute of Contemporary Arts and Hayward galleries. Hyman is a portraitist, but is best known for his narrative renditions of London. Drawing inspiration from artists such as Max Beckmann and Bonnard, as well as Lorenzetti and Brueghel, he explores his personal relationship, both real and mythological, with the city where he lives and works. Anthony Hyman
Anthony Hyman (17 April 1946 – 19 December 1999) was a British academic, writer, broadcaster, and Islamicist. Anthony Hyman was a son of the author, journalist, and film writer Alan Hyman (1910–1999). His siblings were the author Miranda Miller, the artist Timothy Hyman, and Nicholas Hyman. Hyman was a student at the London School of Oriental and African Studies, where he became interested in the Muslim world. He became an expert on Afghanistan, Iran, Pakistan, and Central Asia, and was a commentator for the BBC World Service for more than twenty years He was a linguist, historian, bibliophile, art lover, and traveller. Queen's College is an independent school for girls aged 11–18 with an adjoining prep school for girls aged 4–11 located in the City of Westminster, London.
