Miramichi Valley High School
Miramichi Valley High School is one of two public, English language high schools in the city of Miramichi, New Brunswick, Canada. It serves principally residents from the north side of the Miramichi River, both from the city of Miramichi, and smaller communities distributed from Tabusintac in the east, to Upper Blackville in the west. The school opened its doors in January 1972 to students in grades 10–12, with Charles Hubbard as principal. In 1994 grade 9 classes were added. The school's mascot is Samoo the Pulamoo a boxing Salmon. Miramichi () is the largest city in northern New Brunswick, Canada. It is situated at the mouth of the Miramichi River where it enters Miramichi Bay. Miramichi River
The Miramichi River is a river located in the east-central part of New Brunswick, Canada. The river drains into Miramichi Bay in the Gulf of St. Lawrence. The name may have been derived from the Montagnais words "Maissimeu Assi" (meaning Mi'kmaq Land), and it is today the namesake of the Miramichi Herald at the Canadian Heraldic Authority. Charles Hubbard (politician)
Charles Isaac Hubbard, (October 29, 1940 – February 12, 2020) was a Canadian politician. Hubbard was a member of the Liberal Party of Canada. He was a former member of the House of Commons of Canada, representing the riding of Miramichi, New Brunswick from 1993 to 2008. Hubbard was a former school principal. He was a former Parliamentary Secretary to the Minister of Indian Affairs and Northern Development and Parliamentary Secretary to the Minister of Transport during the government of Paul Martin. Hubbard was born in Newcastle, New Brunswick.
