Mirabilandia (Brazil)
Mirabilandia is the only fixed amusement park in Northeastern Brazil. It is located between Recife and Olinda, and it occupies 57,000 m2 of land. Mirabilandia operates three traveling parks in Brazil, called ''Universal Park'', ''Fiesta Park'' and ''American Park''. History ''Mirabilandia'' is an amusement park located in the Brazilian state of Pernambuco. Opened in 2002, it's now one of the most successful amusement parks in Brazil. Resulting from a partnership between the group Peixoto and an Italian group, it had 15 rides and 1 coaster at opening, but today features more than 30 attractions, and is the Brazilian park which made the largest investment by buying new attractions. Olinda
Olinda () is a historic city in Pernambuco, Brazil, in the Northeast Region, Brazil, Northeast Region. It is located on the country's northeastern Atlantic Ocean coast, in the Recife metropolitan area, Metropolitan Region of Recife, the state capital. It has a population of 393,115 people, covers , and has a population density of 9,437 inhabitants per square kilometer. Vekoma Rides Manufacturing is a Dutch amusement ride manufacturer. Vekoma is syllabic abbreviation of Veld Koning Machinefabriek (Veld Koning Machine Factory) which was established in 1926 by Hendrik op het Veld. History The company originally manufactured farm equipment and later made steel constructions for the coal mining industry in the 1950s. As business shifted from farming equipment to steel construction, Veld Koning Machinefabriek was shortened to Vekoma. After the closure of Dutch mines in 1965, Vekoma manufactured steel pipes for the petrochemical industry. In the 1970s Vekoma was contracted by U.S. amusement ride manufacturer Arrow Development to build the steel structure for its roller coasters in Europe. A Giant Inverted Boomerang is a type of steel shuttle roller coaster manufactured by the Dutch firm Vekoma.
