Mira Kunnasluoto
Mira Johanna Kunnasluoto born (13 January 1974 in Elimäki, Finland) is a Finnish singer. She first came to fame as a tango singer; now her repertoire includes evergreens and Finnish pop. Biography She is the second youngest of four sisters. Her parents divorced when she was only 3. Young, she played guitar and sung at home. Arja Koriseva and Eija Kantola were her favorite Finnish singers, and Kim Wilde, Paul Young, and Madonna her favorite international singers. After leaving school, she attended Kuusankoski nursing college, but dropped out after six months. She started catering college but also dropped out. She trained briefly as a florist, abandoned it after four months, and started to participate in singing competitions. In 1999 she took part in the Radio Stars competition, the Stage Stars, and the Finland Stars. Modest success in these encouraged her to try for the prestigious Tangomarkkinat. Elimäki (Swedish: ''Elimä'') is a former municipality of Finland. It was located in the province of Southern Finland and was part of the region of Kymenlaakso. The municipality had a population of 8,199 and covered an area of 391.74 km² of which 4.27 km² was water. The population density was 21.2 inhabitants per km². The municipality was unilingually Finnish. Of note is the village of Koria, the largest village in Elimäki, possessing a population of 5,100. Koria is located 6,7 km west of Kouvola. Eino Grön, born January 31, 1939, is a Finnish American singer known for his performance of a wide range of popular music styles, including Tango, jazz, and spiritual music. Grön was born at the island of Reposaari in Pori but has lived the last 30 years mainly in Palm Beach, Florida. Grön made his first recording in 1958 and he is one of the most iconic persons in the Finnish popular music scene. Grön is best known as a tango singer but his styles vary from Finnish schlager to jazz and spiritual music, such as traditional Christmas songs. The Tangomarkkinat is the world's oldest tango festival. It is held early every July in Seinäjoki, Finland. As well as competitions to find the country's best tango singers, composers, and dancers, the festival features public dancing to live music provided by the best Finnish entertainers. Music for public dancing is not restricted to tango: it includes all the dance rhythms popular in Finland: but tango content must, according to the rules, be at least 40%. Lasse Lintala, the director of the Ilmajoki Music Festival and his wife were in the sauna with the director of the MTV3 TV channel Tauno Äijälä and his wife Katja. Kuusankoski is a neighbourhood of city of Kouvola, former industrial town and municipality of Finland, located in the region of Kymenlaakso in the province of Southern Finland.
