Minns Ministry
The Minns ministry is the 100th ministry of the Government of New South Wales, led by Chris Minns, the state's 47th Premier of New South Wales, premier following his party's victory in the 2023 New South Wales state election, 2023 state election. Ministry The full ministry was announced on 4 April 2023 and was sworn in the following day on 5 April. All Ministers are members of the New South Wales Labor Party. Premier Of New South Wales
The premier of New South Wales is the head of government in the state of New South Wales, Australia. The Government of New South Wales follows the Westminster Parliamentary System, with a Parliament of New South Wales acting as the legislature. The premier is appointed by the governor of New South Wales, and by modern convention holds office by his or her ability to command the support of a majority of members of the lower house of Parliament, the Legislative Assembly. Before Federation in 1901 the term "prime minister of New South Wales" was also used. "Premier" has been used more or less exclusively from 1901, to avoid confusion with the federal prime minister of Australia. Leader Of The Government In The Legislative Council (New South Wales)
The Leader of the Government in the Legislative Council, known before 1 July 1966 as Representative of the Government in the Legislative Council, is an office held in New South Wales by the most senior minister in the New South Wales Legislative Council, elected to lead the governing party (or parties) in the council. Though the leader in the Council does not have the power of the office of Premier, there are some parallels between the latter's status in the Legislative Assembly and the former's in the Council. This means that the leader has responsibility for all policy areas, acts as the government's principal spokesperson in the upper house and has priority in gaining recognition from the President of the Council to speak in debate. Penelope Gail Sharpe (born 22 October 1970) is an Australian politician. She has served as a member of the New South Wales Legislative Council since 2005, representing the Labor Party. Since June 2021, Sharpe is the leader of the opposition in the Legislative Council. In the Labor Party leadership contest in November 2018, Sharpe was elected Deputy Leader under Michael Daley. After Daley's resignation in the aftermath of the March 2019 state election, Sharpe became interim Leader, serving until the June leadership election, which she did not contest. Minister For Western Sydney
The Minister for Western Sydney is a minister in the New South Wales Government with responsibility for the Greater Western Sydney, Australia. It was first established in 1997 in the second Carr ministry as an assistant minister, before becoming a separate portfolio in the third Carr ministry. The portfolio was only intermittently responsible for any legislation, nor tasked with the management of a department. The region is not defined, although generally consistent with Greater Western Sydney the portfolio has on occasion been responsible for areas outside that region, such as the Sydney Olympic Park. In the second Perrottet ministry the portfolio is responsible for the Western Parkland City Authority, which includes the region around the Western Sydney Airport. Prudence Ann Car (née Guillaume) is an Australian politician serving as the 20th and current deputy premier of New South Wales since March 2023. She has served as the Labor member for Londonderry in the New South Wales Legislative Assembly since 2015.
