Minnesota State High School Mathematics League
The Minnesota State High School Mathematics League is a high school mathematics league in the state of Minnesota. It was founded in 1980 by Macalester College professor Wayne Roberts. The league holds five statewide tournaments per year from November through February, as well as a state tournament in March. It is one of the Minnesota Mathematics Competitions. Regular season There are five meets for each regular season. For each meet, there are four individual events, A-D. Each mathlete chooses to compete in two individual events. Each high school chooses its eight top mathletes, including at least two students below the eleventh grade, as its "varsity" team, which actually earns points in the name of the school and competes together in the team event; the other students simply compete for themselves in whichever two individual events they choose. Irondale High School
Irondale High School is a public high school in New Brighton, Minnesota, United States. Part of the Mounds View Public Schools district, the school is in a suburban area ten miles north of downtown Minneapolis and Saint Paul. Irondale made headlines in late 2011 when it introduced its Early College program, which began in the 2012–13 school year. The program, run in conjunction with Anoka-Ramsey Community College, allows students to graduate in four years with both a high school diploma and an associate's degree. Harvard-MIT Mathematics Tournament
HMMT is an annual high school math competition that started in 1998. The location of the tournament, in Cambridge, Massachusetts, alternates between Harvard University (November tournament) and MIT (February tournament). The contest is written and staffed almost entirely by Harvard and MIT students. Naming HMMT was initially started as the Harvard-MIT Mathematics Tournament in 1998, and is frequently still referred to as such by much of the math community. In 2019, HMMT rebranded as just HMMT to meet requirements set forth by Harvard and MIT, making it an orphan initialism. Tournament format HMMT February is attended by teams of eight students each. American Regions Mathematics League
The American Regions Mathematics League (ARML), is an annual, national high school mathematics team competition held simultaneously at four locations in the United States: the University of Iowa, Penn State, UNLV, and the University of Alabama in Huntsville. Past sites have included San Jose State University, Rutgers University, Duke University, and University of Georgia. Teams consist of 15 members, which usually represent a large geographic region (such as a state) or a large population center (such as a major city). Some schools also field teams. The competition is held in June, on the first Saturday after Memorial Day. In 2022, 120 teams competed with about 1800 students. ARML problems cover a wide variety of mathematical topics including algebra, geometry, number theory, combinatorics, probability, and inequalities. Como Park Senior High School (CPSHS or commonly known as CPHS) is a public high school located in the Lake Como area of Saint Paul, Minnesota, United States, serving grades nine through twelve. Along with nine other public high schools, Como Park comprises the Saint Paul Public Schools. Apple Valley High School (AVHS) is a public four-year high school in the U.S. city of Apple Valley, Minnesota. It is one of the five high schools serving Independent School District 196 (Rosemount-Apple Valley-Eagan School District). St. Louis Park High School is a four-year public high school located in St. Louis Park, Minnesota, United States. Minneapolis South High School is a four-year comprehensive public high school located in the Corcoran neighborhood of Minneapolis, Minnesota.
