Ministry Of Local Government (Uganda)
The Ministry of Local Government (MOLG), is a cabinet-level government ministry of Uganda. It is responsible for the "creation, supervision and guidance of sustainable, efficient and effective service delivery in the decentralized system of governance. The ministry is responsible for the harmonization and support of all local government functions, to cause positive socio-economic transformation of Uganda". The ministry is headed by a cabinet minister, currently Tom Butime. Location The headquarters of the ministry are located on the 4th Floor of Workers House, on Pilkington Avenue, in the Central Division of Kampala, Uganda's capital and largest city. Government Of Uganda
Uganda is a presidential republic in which the President of Uganda is the head of state and the prime minister is the head of government business. There is a multi-party system. Executive power is exercised by the government. Legislative power is given to both the government and the National Assembly. The system is based on a democratic parliamentary system with equal rights for all citizens over 18 years of age. Political culture In a measure ostensibly designed to reduce sectarian violence, political parties were restricted in their activities from 1986. Kampala (, ) is the capital and largest city of Uganda. Raphael Magyezi (born July 27, 1960) is a Ugandan politician. He served as Member of Parliament representing Igara West beginning in 2011. He was appointed in the Cabinet of Uganda as the Minister for Local Government in 2019 by PresidenYoweri Musevenit. Early life He attended Diploma Katigondo Seminary for Religious Studies in 1983. Tom Butime
Colonel (Retired) Tom Butime (born 1947) is a Ugandan politician. He is the Cabinet Minister of Tourism, Wildlife and Antiquities in the Ugandan Cabinet. He concurrently serves as the elected representative for Mwenge County Central, Kyenjojo District, in the 10th Ugandan Parliament (2016–2021). He served as State Minister for Communications from 13 January 2005 until February 2006. After the general elections in February 2006, he was named State Minister for Karamoja Affairs, a posting he declined to assume. In 2011, Butime contested for the position of Representative of Mwenge County North, but lost to David Muhumuza. Kampala Central Division is one of the five divisions that make up Kampala, the capital of Uganda. The city's five divisions are: (a) Kampala Central Division (b) Kawempe Division (c) Lubaga Division (d) Makindye Division and (e) Nakawa Division. Location The division comprises the central business district of the largest city in Uganda and includes the areas of Old Kampala, Nakasero and Kololo. These areas are the most upscale business and residential neighborhoods in the city. Jennifer Namuyangu
Jenipher Kacha Namuyangu, also Jennifer Namuyangu Byakatonda, but commonly referred to as Jennifer Namuyangu, is a Ugandan politician and environmentalist. She belongs to the National Resistance Movement political party. She is the Minister of State for Local Government in the Ugandan Cabinet. She was appointed to that position on 6 June 2016. She previously served as the Minister of State for Water Resources, from 1 June 2006 until 27 May 2011. In the Cabinet reshuffle on 27 May 2011, she was dropped from the cabinet and was replaced by Betty Bigombe. The ''Daily Monitor'' is a Ugandan independent daily newspaper. Its name is shared by the ''Saturday Monitor'' and ''Sunday Monitor'', which are also published by Monitor Publications Limited. ''Daily Monitor'' averaged a daily circulation of 24,230 newspapers in September 2011. By the fourth quarter of 2019, that figure had dropped to 16,169 copies daily. Adolf Mwesige
Adolf Kasaija Mwesige (born 4 April 1966) is a Ugandan lawyer and politician who served as Minister of Defence and Veterans Affairs in the Cabinet of Uganda from 6 June 2016 to 8 June 2021. He previously served as Minister of Local Government from 18 February 2009 to 6 June 2016. He has also been the elected Member of Parliament for Bunyangabu County, Kabarole District, since 1996.
