The Ministry of Defence of the Czech Republic ( cs, Ministerstvo obrany České republiky, MO ČR) is the primary agency of the Czech Republic responsible for the planning and carrying-out of defense policy. It is the Czech Republic's ministry of defence. It is the direct successor of the Czechoslovak Ministry of Defence. Its current headquarters is located in Prague. The current Minister of Defence is Jana Černochová, in office since 17 December 2021. Jaroslav (also written as Yaroslav or Jarosław in other Slavic languages) is a Czech and Slovak first name, pagan in origin. There are several possible origins of the name Jaroslav. Martin Stropnický
Martin Stropnický (born 19 December 1956) is a Czech politician and diplomat who served as the minister of Foreign Affairs from December 2017 to June 2018, and was previously minister of Defence from 2014 to 2017. From 2 January 1998 to 22 July 1998 he also served as the minister of Culture. Before entering politics, he was an actor, songwriter, author and director. Career Stropnický graduated from the Theatre Faculty of the Academy of Performing Arts in Prague (DAMU) in 1980, and worked in different theatres in Prague over the next decade including the Prague Municipal Theatre and the Vinohrady Theatre. In 1990 he began working at the Czechoslovak Ministry of Foreign Affairs (which became the Czech Ministry of Foreign Affairs two years later). He graduated from the Diplomatic Academy of Vienna in 1991, and subsequently served as the Czech Ambassador to Portugal (1993–94) and then Italy (1994-97). Vlastimil Picek
Vlastimil Picek (25 October 1956) is a Czech politician. He served as the Ministry of Defence (Czech Republic), Minister of Defence of the Czech Republic from March 2012 to January 2013. From 2007 to 2012, he was the Military of the Czech Republic, Chief of the General Staff of the Armed Forces of the Czech Republic. He was the fourth person and the first member of Czech Air Force to serve at this position. He was appointed by President of the Czech Republic, President Václav Klaus and took office on 1 March 2007. He was replaced by Major General Petr Pavel as from 1 July 2012. On 18 September 2012 he was appointed the 1st Deputy Defence Minister. On 13 December 2012, he was dismissed by then new minister Karolína Peake and on 21 December 2012 reinstalled by Prime Minister Petr Nečas, after Nečas dismissed Peake.
