Ministry Of Labour And Social Security (Turkey)
The Ministry of Labour and Social Security ( tr, Çalışma ve Sosyal Güvenlik Bakanlığı) is a government ministry office of the Republic of Turkey, responsible for labour and social security affairs in Turkey. The ministry is headed by Vedat Bilgin. History Initially, the ministry was formed as the Office of Labour and Labourers within the Ministry of Economy upon Act of Parliament No. 2450, which came into force on 27 May 1934. As a governmental ministry, it was established on June 22, 1945 with the Act of Parliament No. 4763. In 1983, the Ministry of Labour and the Ministry of Social Security were merged into the Ministry of Labour and Social Security. In 2018, the ministry was merged with the Ministry of Family and Social Policy. This merger was undone in 2021, making the Labour and Social Security related tasks headed by a separate minister again. Vedat Bilgin
Vedat Bilgin (born 22 September 1954) is a Turkish sociologist, academician, bureaucrat, writer and the current Turkish Minister of Labor and Social Security. Academic life Born in Aydıntepe, Bayburt on September 22, 1954, Vedat Bilgin completed his primary and secondary education in the same city. He entered Hacettepe University's Faculty of Social and Administrative Sciences in 1974. After completing his undergraduate education, he did postgraduate and doctoral studies at the Faculty of Economics of Istanbul University. He published the Genç Arkadaş Magazine for the first time while he was a university student. In 1982, he passed the assistantship exam and went to Selçuk University. He also worked at the Faculty of Economics and Administrative Sciences of Gazi University. During his time here, he also functioned as a lecturer. The Ministry of Family and Social Services ( tr, Aile ve Sosyal Hizmetler Bakanlığı) is a government ministry of the Republic of Turkey, responsible for family affairs and social services. The ministry is headed by Derya Yanık. History Before the establishment of the ministry in 2011, the portfolio of women and family affairs was executed by a state minister in the cabinet with the help of the Agency for Social Services and Children Protection ( tr, Başbakanlık Sosyal Hizmetler ve Çocuk Esirgeme Kurumu). The Cabinet of Turkey ( tr, Türkiye Kabinesi) or Presidential Cabinet ( tr, Cumhurbaşkanlığı Kabinesi) is the body that exercises supreme executive authority in Turkey. It is composed of the President and the heads of the ministries. From 1923 to 2018, Ministers were ceremonially appointed by the President on the advice of the Prime Minister.
