Minister Of Digital Government
The minister of Digital Government (french: ministre du Gouvernement numérique) was a minister of the Crown in the Canadian Cabinet with responsibility for Shared Services Canada (SSC)—the federal department that manages and maintains information technology services throughout the Government of Canada, as well as the digital strategies and programs of the Treasury Board of Canada Secretariat. (The first two ministers of Digital Government were also concurrently the president of the Treasury Board.) This position was introduced in the 29th Canadian Ministry under the premiership of Justin Trudeau. Prior to 2018, responsibility for oversight of SSC was in the portfolio of the minister of Public Services and Procurement. Scott Brison
Scott A. Brison (born May 10, 1967) is a Canadian former politician from Nova Scotia. Brison served as the Member of Parliament (MP) for the riding of Kings-Hants from the 1997 federal election until July 2000, then from November 2000 to February 2019. He was the first openly gay MP to sit as a member of the Progressive Conservative Party. In 2003, just days after the Progressive Conservatives and the more socially conservative Canadian Alliance voted to merge into the Conservative Party of Canada, Brison crossed the floor to join the Liberal Party. Jane Philpott (née Little; born November 23, 1960) is a physician, academic administrator, and former Canadian politician who represented the riding of Markham—Stouffville in the House of Commons. She was first elected in the 2015 federal election as a member of the Liberal Party and was appointed to the Cabinet of the 29th Canadian Ministry, headed by Justin Trudeau, on November 4, 2015. The minister of public services and procurement (french: ministre des services publics et de l’approvisionnement) is the minister of the Crown in the Canadian Cabinet who is responsible for overseeing the Government of Canada's "common service organization" (Public Services and Procurement Canada), an expansive department responsible for the internal servicing and administration of the federal government. A flavour for the department is given by the list of acts and regulations for which it is responsible. The minister of public services and procurement is also the receiver general for Canada. The Twenty-Ninth Canadian Ministry is the Cabinet, chaired by Prime Minister Justin Trudeau, that began governing Canada shortly before the opening of the 42nd Parliament. The original members were sworn in during a ceremony held at Rideau Hall on November 4, 2015. Those who were not already members of the privy council were sworn into it in the same ceremony.
