Minik Dahl Høegh
Minik Dahl Høegh (born 4 May 1985) is a Greenlandic handballer, currently playing for Amo Handboll and the Greenlandic national team. Minik started playing handball at the age of 17. In 2008 he signed a contract with Danish side GOG. At the 2012 Pan American Men's Handball Championship and 2016 Pan American Men's Handball Championship Minik Dahl Høegh became topscorer and was selected for the all-star team. Nuuk
Nuuk (; da, Nuuk, formerly ) is the capital and largest city of Greenland, a constituent country of the Kingdom of Denmark. Nuuk is the seat of government and the country's largest cultural and economic centre. The major cities from other countries closest to the capital are Iqaluit and St. John's in Canada and Reykjavík in Iceland. Nuuk contains a third of Greenland's population and its tallest building. Nuuk is also the seat of government for the Sermersooq municipality. In January 2021, it had a population of 18,800. Julie Ivalo Broberg Berthelsen also known by her mononym Julie (born 7 June 1979) is a Danish-born Greenlandic pop singer and songwriter. She is known largely for her success on the TV series ''Popstars''. Although she finished in second place, she has become more popular and successful than the first-place winner. She grew up in Nuuk, the capital of Greenland. Julie has given a variety of performances, the most noteworthy of which was at Christiansborg Palace, in front of the Danish Royal family for the wedding of Crown Prince Frederik and Crown Princess Mary in May 2004. 2016 Pan American Men's Handball Championship
The 2016 Pan American Men's Handball Championship was the 17th official competition for senior men's national handball teams of North, Center, Caribbean and South America. It was held from 11 to 19 June 2016 at the Tecnópolis in Buenos Aires, Argentina. It also acted as the qualifying competition for the 2017 World Men's Handball Championship in France, securing three vacancies for the World Championship. 2012 Pan American Men's Handball Championship
The 2012 Pan American Handball Championship, also called PanAmericano 2012, was the 15th official competition for senior men's national handball teams of North, Center, Caribbean and South America. It was held from 18 to 24 June 2012 in Burzaco, Almirante Brown Partido, Argentina. It also acted as the qualifying competition for the 2013 World Men's Handball Championship, securing three vacancies for the World Championship. A decision was announced during the 2011 Pan American Games that the tournament will consist of 12 teams. As the winner of those Pan American Games, Argentina was selected as the host. Handball
Handball (also known as team handball, European handball or Olympic handball) is a team sport in which two teams of seven players each (six outcourt players and a goalkeeper) pass a ball using their hands with the aim of throwing it into the goal of the other team. A standard match consists of two periods of 30 minutes, and the team that scores more goals wins. Modern handball is played on a court of , with a goal in the middle of each end. The goals are surrounded by a zone where only the defending goalkeeper is allowed; goals must be scored by throwing the ball from outside the zone or while "diving" into it. Ajax København is a handball club based in southwestern Copenhagen, Denmark, consisting of both a women's and a men's team. As of the 2022-23 season, the women's team compete in Damehåndboldligaen, the highest women's league in Denmark.
