Mind Over Matter (band)
Mind Over Matter is an Australian hip hop outfit from Sydney, Australia consisting of MC Smiles Again and DJ Ntaprize. Previously, the lineup also included MC Willow, but he left the group in 2014. The group has played alongside and toured in support of some of Australia's biggest artists, including Jebediah, Bliss n Eso, Drapht, The Herd and Pez. Biography What was originally a duo, Willow (Rowan Lockyer) and Smiles Again (Martin Brown) met at St.Pius X College Chatswood in Year 7. By Year 9 Lockyer and Brown were practicing their freestyle skills and working together on what would become the roots of their music. Mind Over Matter first surfaced on the Australian hip hop scene in 2006 with a short mixtape titled ''For Our Hip Hoppers''. This independent release resulted in Mind Over Matter signing to Sydney-based Nurcha Records for their Debut LP ''Keepin' It Breezy. Koolism
''Koolism'' is an Australian hip hop duo originating from Canberra, Australian Capital Territory. The members are lyricist Hau Latukefu (born Langomi-e-Hau Latukefu, 1976, Queanbeyan, Australia) and producer/DJ/musician Danielsan Ichiban (born Daniel Elleson, 1975, Auckland, New Zealand). History ''Koolism'' started out in 1992 when Elleson (aka DJ Rampage) joined a group by the name Tribe Ledda L (L for Latukefu), which comprised Hau and his cousins Hounga and Sione. By 1995 only DJ Danielsan and Hau remained and they changed the name to Koolism, from a song with that name which they recorded the previous year. Their first appearance using that name is on the ''Homebrews Volume 1'' compilation. Luke Girgis
Luke George Girgis, formerly known by his stage name, Coptic Soldier, is an Australian hip-hop artist, music manager, record label executive, and publisher. He often performed with stage partner, Phatchance (aka Chance Waters) and later became his manager. Girgis founded a talent management company, Be Like Children, in 2006, and in 2013 co-founded a record label, I Forgot Sorry! Chance Waters
Chance Dylan Waters (previously known as Phatchance), is an ex independent Australian hip hop artist and record producer. As Phatchance, Waters was a founder of the group, Natural Causes, in 2003 which issued an album, ''The Incidental Noise Demo'' (August 2007), and toured nationally. The group disbanded later that year. In 2009 Waters independently released his debut album, ''Inkstains'', as Phatchance, via Obese Records distribution. His second album, ''Infinity'', was issued in November 2012. Saving Grace is a Christian metal band from Gisborne, New Zealand. They were the first foreign band to sign to Strike First Records. FBi (call sign: 2FBI) station is an independent, not-for-profit community radio in Sydney, Australia. FBi places a heavy emphasis on local emerging music: it has a policy that at least 50 per cent of its music content is to be Australian, of which at least half comes from Sydney musicians. Cannibal Ox is an American hip hop duo from Harlem, New York, United States. It consists of Vast Aire and Vordul Mega, often accompanied by DJ Cip-One.
