Milltown (stadium)
Milltown is a Association football, football stadium in Warrenpoint, County Down, Northern Ireland. It is the home ground of Warrenpoint Town F.C., Warrenpoint Town of the NIFL Premier Intermediate League. The stadium sits in the larger Milltown Sports Complex, in the area of Warrenpoint of the same name. The ground was upgraded in 2013 after Warrenpoint were promoted to the Premiership, to satisfy the rules of that league. History In 2008, Warrenpoint Town applied to turn the pitch from natural grass into a 3G pitch, which was granted by the Newry and Mourne District Council. In 2013, Warrenpoint Town were promoted to the NIFL Premiership. Owing to previous consecutive promotions, Milltown did not meet the Irish Football Association's criteria for use in the Premiership. Warrenpoint ( ga, An Pointe) is a small port town and civil parish in County Down, Northern Ireland. It sits at the head of Carlingford Lough, south of Newry, and is separated from the Republic of Ireland by a narrow strait. The town is beside the village of Rostrevor and is overlooked by the Mournes and Cooley Mountains. Warrenpoint sprang up within the townland of Ringmackilroy (), and is locally nicknamed "The Point". Warrenpoint is known for its scenic location, the ''Maiden of Mourne'' festival, the ''Blues on the Bay'' music festival, the passenger ferry service between Warrenpoint and Omeath and the nearby Narrow Water Castle. Stangmore Park
Stangmore Park is a football stadium in Dungannon, County Tyrone, Northern Ireland. It is the home ground of Dungannon Swifts, and holds around 2,000 spectators, 300 of whom can be seated. History Stangmore Park was opened in 1975 after a temporary wooden social club was built after Dungannon Swifts had bought the land from a local company. In 1982, the wooden social club was removed and replaced with a clubhouse. In 2006, Stangmore Park was attacked by vandals. Eight crates of beer had been stolen from the ground. The police reported that half of the bottles in the crates had littered the pitch with glass being stuck in the goals and the centre of the pitch. This also led to the postponement of a semi-final of the Bob Radcliffe Cup. Warrenpoint GAA
St Peter's GAA ( ga, Cumann Pheadair Naofa) is a Gaelic Athletic Association club in Warrenpoint, County Down, Northern Ireland. Foundation The GAA in Warrenpoint pre-dates St Peter's by a considerable span of years for it was in 1888 that the original seed was sown with the name of John Martin. The club colours were black and amber strips. Being adopted on a proposal by John Carr and seconded by Thomas Caulifield the Club maintained the name until the mid-1920s until it fell on hard times. In 1931, it revived but because Glenn had registered a new club, John Martin some months before, the name of St Peter's was chosen and blue and white were chosen as the club colours. It is worth noting that the John Martin's of 1888 won the first competition held in Down by beating Mayobridge at Edenmore. The objective of the sport is to score by kicking or punching the ball into the other team's goals (3 points) or between two upright posts above the goals and over a crossbar above the ground (1 point). Players advance the football up the field with a combination of carrying, bouncing, kicking, hand-passing, and soloing (dropping the ball and then toe-kicking the ball upward into the hands).
