Millstream, Queensland
Millstream is a rural locality in the Tablelands Region, Queensland, Australia. In the Millstream had a population of 1,246 people. Geography Millstream is bounded to the west by the Wild River, while The Millstream flows from east to south-west through the locality. Their confluence which creates the Herbert River is just to the south-west of the locality in neighbouring Innot Hot Springs. Smaller farm blocks are found in the southern part of the locality, just to the north of The Millstream, where the land is flatter (about 730 metres above sea level). However, much of the locality is mountainous, rising to unnamed peaks of about 1000 metres above sea level); this area is not developed. The northern part of the locality forms part of The Bluff State Forest. Millstream Falls and the associated Millstream Falls National Park are not in the locality but immediately adjacent in neighbouring Koombooloomba. Herbert River
The Herbert River is a river located in Far North Queensland, Australia. The southernmost of Queensland's wet tropics river systems, it was named in 1864 by George Elphinstone Dalrymple explorer, after Robert George Wyndham Herbert, the first Premier of Queensland. Millstream-Chichester National Park
Millstream Chichester National Park is a national park in the Pilbara region of Western Australia, located north of the state capital, Perth. The park is made up of the old Millstream Station, which is on the Millstream Creek, just before it joins Fortescue River, one of the few permanent watercourses in the area and the Chichester Range. History The area is homeland of the Yinjibarndi people. Millstream Creek was named by the explorer Francis Thomas Gregory in 1861. He reported the favourable grazing prospects. The first pastoral lease was taken up on 1865. By 1907 the property was owned by Loton and Padbury, and occupied an area of . It was stocked with 20,500 sheep, 1,900 cattle and 150 horses, and was passed in at auction at £26,000. The present Millstream Homestead was built in 1920. Millstream Brewing is a small American brewery founded in 1985 by Carroll F. Zuber and brothers James Roemig and Dennis Roemig in Amana Colonies Iowa. History Millstream Brewing Company was established in the fall of 1985 in The Amana Colonies by locals Carrol Zuber and brothers James and Dennis Roemig. Joseph Pickett designed the brewery and created the original recipes. Originally Millstream's only products consisted of the Millstream Lager and the Schild Brau Amber. In 2001 three employees formed a partnership and purchased the brewery. A leat (; also lete or leet, or millstream) is the name, common in the south and west of England and in Wales, for an artificial watercourse or aqueduct dug into the ground, especially one supplying water to a watermill or its mill pond. Other common uses for leats include delivery of water for hydraulic mining and mineral concentration, for irrigation, to serve a dye works or other industrial plant, and provision of drinking water to a farm or household or as a catchment cut-off to improve the yield of a reservoir.
