Millstream is a rural locality in the Tablelands Region, Queensland, Australia. In the Millstream had a population of 1,246 people. Geography Millstream is bounded to the west by the Wild River, while The Millstream flows from east to south-west through the locality. Their confluence which creates the Herbert River is just to the south-west of the locality in neighbouring Innot Hot Springs. Smaller farm blocks are found in the southern part of the locality, just to the north of The Millstream, where the land is flatter (about 730 metres above sea level). However, much of the locality is mountainous, rising to unnamed peaks of about 1000 metres above sea level); this area is not developed. The northern part of the locality forms part of The Bluff State Forest. Millstream Falls and the associated Millstream Falls National Park are not in the locality but immediately adjacent in neighbouring Koombooloomba. The Herbert River is a river located in Far North Queensland, Australia. The southernmost of Queensland's wet tropics river systems, it was named in 1864 by George Elphinstone Dalrymple explorer, after Robert George Wyndham Herbert, the first Premier of Queensland. Electoral District Of Hill
Hill is an electoral district of the Legislative Assembly in the Australian state of Queensland. It was created in the 2017 redistribution, and first contested at the Queensland state election the same year. It was named after geologist Dorothy Hill. It is a new seat centered on the Atherton Tableland region, encompassing the coastal region around Innisfail, Tully and Babinda. It was created largely out of the northern portion of the abolished seat of Dalrymple. From results of the 2015 election, Hill was estimated to be a marginal seat for Katter's Australian Party with a margin of 4.9%. Silver Valley, Queensland
Silver Valley is a rural locality in the Tablelands Region, Queensland, Australia. In the Silver Valley had a population of 144 people. It is known for its mining in the late 1800s and early 1900s. Geography The Wild River forms the western boundary of the locality. The Kennedy Highway passes from west to east through the southern edge of the locality. The locality is mountainous, rising from an elevation of 650m in Bulldog Gully in the south of the locality through to numerous unnamed peaks of up to 1050m. The land is relatively undeveloped apart from some areas now laid bare as the result of mining. History James Venture Mulligan is credited with the first discovery of silver at Silver Valley in 1880.
