Vennaskond (Estonian for ''Brotherhood'') is an Estonian punk rock band founded in 1984. The band has toured in Estonia, Finland, Latvia, Romania, Sweden, Germany, France, India, Poland and the United States (including CBGB). To show respect to the band, Metallica covered Vennaskond's hit song Insener Garini hüperboloid (Engineer Garin's Hyperboloid) in Estonia in front of a 60 000 strong crowd during their gig in Tartu, Estonia on 18 July 2019. The band is explicitly anarchist, with many lyrics referring to historical anarchists. The frontman of the band, Tõnu Trubetsky, has been called "Estonia's leading anarchist". Lili Marleen
"Lili Marleen" (also spelled "Lili Marlen'", "Lilli Marlene", "Lily Marlene", "Lili Marlène" among others; ) is a German love song that became popular during World War II throughout Europe and the Mediterranean among both Axis and Allied troops. Written in 1915 as a poem, the song was published in 1937 and was first recorded by Lale Andersen in 1939 as "Das Mädchen unter der Laterne" ("The Girl under the Lantern"). Margus Põldsepp
Margus Põldsepp (born 3 November 1969) is an Estonian musician who performs in several ensembles, including Untsakad, Lõõtsavägilased and Põldsepp ja Pojad. Margus Põldsepp was born in Paide. He graduated from Valga Children's Music School in 1985 and Valga Gymnasium and in 1987. He has been collecting folklore since he was a student, using it in his musical work. From 1995 until 2002, he was the musical director of the Ugala theatre in Viljandi. He ran for the VIII Riigikogu in 1995 on the list of the Fourth Forces of the Electoral Union formed by the Estonian Greens and the Estonian Royalist Party, but was not elected. Villu Tamme
J.M.K.E. is an Estonian punk rock band, which formed in Tallinn on January 18, 1986. Biography The original singer, Mati, left the band soon afterwards, leaving Venno on drums, Tarvo Hanno Varres on bass, and Villu Tamme on vocals and guitar, sometimes working together with guest singers (with Tõnu Trubetsky from Vennaskond playing under the name "Vürst Trubetsky & J.M.K.E."). For the first three years they mainly played concerts in Estonia, with a few also in Latvia, Lithuania and Russia. Later the band has toured Europe several times. Ivo Uukkivi (born 11 October 1965) is an Estonian stage, film, radio, and television actor, television producer and, under the nickname Munk, founder of and singer with the punk band Velikije Luki. Early life and education Ivo Uukkivi was born in Tallinn. He was one of two siblings. He is a 1980 graduate of Tallinn 2nd Secondary School (now, Tallinn Secondary School of Science).
