Military Of Galmudug
On 14 August 2006, Galmudug declared autonomy in central Somalia. On 23 December 2006, (probably clan) forces took part of the Battle of Bandiradley led by Colonel Abdi Qeybdiid alongside Ethiopian and Puntland forces. Galmudug was one of the principle opponents of the Islamic Courts Union till the ICU was dissolved on 27 December 2006. In March 2016, Galmudug forces engaged in a intensive fighting against Al-Shabaab militia who fled from Puntland areas. The fighting which lasted four days resulted in Galmudug forces killing 115 militants and capturing 110 militants. On 18 January 2018, Ahlu Sunna merged its forces and administration into Galmudug State's regional government and security forces. A 2019 AMISOM Operational Readiness Assessment counted 5,754 'regional forces' in Galmudug. Dhusamareb
Dusmareb ( so, Dhuusamareeb, ar, سمريب, it, Dusa Mareb) is the capital of Galmudug state in central Somalia. The city also serves as the administrative capital of the Galguduud province. Historically, the city was known as Daar Dheer or simply Dardher but later in time the city's name changed to Dusamareb also spelled Dhusamareb. Location Dusamareb is 511 km from Mogadishu, the capital city of Somalia. The highway that connects the north and the south of the country goes through the city. Dhusamareb has borders with El Buur to the east Guriceel to the south, Adado to north and Abudwak to the northwest. Military Of Somalia
The Somali Armed Forces are the military forces of the Federal Republic of Somalia. Headed by the president as commander-in-chief, they are constitutionally mandated to ensure the nation's sovereignty, independence and territorial integrity. Chapter 14, Article 126(3). The SAF was initially made up of the Army, Navy, Air Force and Police Force. In the post-independence period, it grew to become among the larger militaries in Africa. National Intelligence And Security Agency
The National Intelligence and Security Agency (NISA) ( so, Hay'ada Sirdoonka iyo Nabadsugida Qaranka (HSNQ)) is the national intelligence agency of the Federal Republic of Somalia. It is headquartered in Mogadishu. The NISA is also closely intertwined with the Somali Armed Forces and regularly cooperates with them. The agency was established in January 2013 by the new Federal Government of Somalia in place of the defunct National Security Service. The agency is assisted by the African Union Mission in Somalia. According to the former Minister of State for the Presidency Abdulkadir Moallin Noor, the U.S. Central Intelligence Agency also provided training to NISA officials during the latter agency's formative stages. The Habar Gidir (Somali: Habar Gidir, Arabic: هبر جدير) is a major subclan of the Hawiye. The clan has produced many prominent Somali figures, including the first Prime Minister of Somalia Abdullahi Issa Mohamud and Somalia's fifth President Abdiqasim Salad Hassan.
