South African National Museum Of Military History
The South African National War Museum in Johannesburg was officially opened by Prime Minister Jan Smuts on 29 August 1947 to preserve the history of South Africa's involvement in the Second World War. In 1975, the museum was renamed the South African National Museum of Military History and its function changed to include all conflicts that South Africa has been involved in. In 1999 it was amalgamated with the Pretoria-based Transvaal Museum and National Cultural History Museum to form the NFI. In April 2010 Ditsong was officially renamed Ditsong Museums of South Africa and the SANMMH was renamed the Ditsong National Museum of Military History. The Liberation War Museum ( bn, মুক্তিযুদ্ধ জাদুঘর ''Muktijuddho Jadughôr'') is a museum at Agargaon in Dhaka, the capital of Bangladesh, which commemorates the Bangladesh Liberation War that led to the independence of Bangladesh from Pakistan. History The Liberation War Museum began under the initiative of an eight-person board of trustees as a means of preserving the memory of the 1971 Liberation War. The Aalborg Defence and Garrison Museum ( da, Aalborg Forsvars- og Garnisonsmuseum, links=no) is a military museum in Aalborg, Denmark that covers all branches (except naval) of Danish defence organizations. History The museum is located in a seaplane hangar, built by German occupation forces during World War II. The German seaplane base Seefliegerhorst Aalborg was established there in 1940. Following the war, the hangar was used as a storage depot for equipment of the Danish Civil Defence Forces. The Staffordshire Regiment Museum is a military museum in Staffordshire, England, preserving the history of the Staffordshire Regiment (The Prince of Wales's), its antecedent regiments and its successor regiment, the Mercian Regiment, from 1705 to the present. Pavlos Melas Museum
The Pavlos Melas Museum is located in the village of Melas, in the north part of the regional unit of Kastoria, Macedonia, Greece. Description The building belonged to the Kantzakis family, from whom the Prefecture of Kastoria purchased it. The museum was inaugurated in the early 1970s and operates today with the support of the Friends of the Museum of the Macedonian Struggle and cooperating women's associations. It is a historic monument because Pavlos Melas, the hero of the Greek Struggle for Macedonia, was killed in it on 13 October 1904 during a clash with the Ottoman army.
