Administration For Security And Counterintelligence
The Administration for Security and Counterintelligence ( mk, Управа за безбедност и контраразузнавање), commonly referred to by the acronym UBK, was the domestic counterintelligence and security agency of North Macedonia. Its headquarters are located in Skopje, and the agency is under jurisdiction of the Ministry of Internal Affairs. The agency was founded in the People's Republic of Macedonia under the name Department for People's Protection OZNA, as the official security agency in the Macedonian socialist republic. Siljan Avramovski (born 10 April 1960, in Skopje) is Macedonian police official and former Minister of Internal Affairs in Macedonian Government that was in power since 2002. Biography Siljan Avramovski was born in Skopje on 10 April 1960. He graduated at Security Faculty in 1983. Sašo Mijalkov
Sašo Mijalkov (born 15 September 1965) was the ninth director of the Administration for Security and Counterintelligence (UBK) of the Republic of Macedonia. Family Sašo Mijalkov is the son of Jordan Mijalkov, the first Interior Minister of the Republic of Macedonia. He is first cousin of Nikola Gruevski the ex Prime Minister of the Republic of Macedonia. He is married to Aleksandra Mijalkova. In June 2014 he became the godfather of Zarko Lukovski current Executive Director of T-Mobile Macedonia. Education Mijalkov holds an Economy degree from Ss. Cyril and Methodius University of Skopje and a master's degree from Prague University. Hari Kostov ( mk, Хари Костов) (born November 13, 1959 in s. Pishica Probištip) is a Macedonian politician who served as the Prime Minister of Macedonia from May 2004 until his resignation in November 2004. He was appointed to the position of Prime Minister by the parliament on May 31, 2004, two weeks after being nominated by President Branko Crvenkovski. Kostov was an economic advisor to the Macedonian government and the World Bank during the 1980s and 1990s. He was the interior minister in the previous government, which was led by Crvenkovski and lasted from 2002 until 2004, and ended when Crvenkovski was elected president. Law enforcement in North Macedonia is the responsibility of the Police of the Republic of North Macedonia (, ''Policija na Republika Severna Makedonija'').
