Milanówek
Milanówek is a town and a seat of a separate gmina, commune in Poland. Located next to the Grodzisk Mazowiecki County near Warsaw, it is often considered an outlying suburb of the capital of Poland but is in fact an independent entity administratively and culturally. Milanówek is however part of wider Warsaw agglomeration. Located on the Middle Masovian Plain, between Grodzisk Mazowiecki and Pruszkow, the town has approximately 15,449 inhabitants. Milanówek is served by Milanówek railway station. History Milanówek was established in the late 19th and early 20th century as a result of parceling landbelonging to Michał Lasocki, and lying along the Warsaw-Vienna Railway. __NOTOC__ Grodzisk Mazowiecki County ( pl, powiat grodziski) is a unit of territorial administration and local government (powiat) in Masovian Voivodeship, east-central Poland. It came into being on 1 January 1999, as a result of the Polish local government reforms passed in 1998. In 2012, he won the Nike Award, Poland's top literary prize, for his collection of essays ''Book of Faces''. The Masovian Voivodeship, also known as the Mazovia Province ( pl, województwo mazowieckie ) is a voivodeship (province) in east-central Poland, with its capital located in the city of Warsaw, which also serves as the capital of the country. Marek Kazimierz Cieślak (born 28 June 1950) is a Polish former speedway rider and current coach. In 2007 he was a manager of Poland national team. Poland won Speedway World Cup and Team U-21 World Championship. The Nike Literary Award ( pl, Nagroda Literacka „Nike") is a literary prize awarded each year for the best book of a single living author writing in Polish and published the previous year. It is widely considered the most important award for Polish literature. Established in 1997 and funded by ''Gazeta Wyborcza'', Poland's second largest daily paper, and the consulting company NICOM, it is conferred annually in October. It is open for nominees from all literary genres, including non-fiction essays and autobiographies. Each year, a nine-member jury selects the laureate in a three-stage process. Twenty official nominees are accepted in May, out of which seven finalists are declared in September. The final decision does not take place until the day of the award ceremony in October. The Church of the Holy Cross ( pl, Bazylika Świętego Krzyża) is a Roman Catholic house of worship in Warsaw, Poland. Located on ''Krakowskie Przedmieście'' opposite the main Warsaw University campus, it is one of the most notable Baroque churches in Poland's capital. A voivodeship (; pl, województwo ; plural: ) is the highest-level administrative division of Poland, corresponding to a province in many other countries. The term has been in use since the 14th century and is commonly translated into English as "province". The Polish local government reforms adopted in 1998, which went into effect on 1 January 1999, created sixteen new voivodeships.
