CS Minaur Baia Mare, commonly known as CS Minaur or simply Minaur, is team handball, handball team based in Baia Mare, Maramureș County, Maramureș, Romania. History HC Minaur Baia Mare was founded on May 15, 1974. Thus, it became the first sports club in the country specializing exclusively in handball. Its name means Gold Mine, referring to the gold mines around Baia Mare. From the very beginning, Minaur has been playing exclusively in the first division of the Romanian handball championship. In the beginning, they played in golden jerseys. The first entry to the Romanian Handball Cup was won by Minaur in 1977/1978. The Czech Republic national handball team is the national handball team of the Czech Republic. It was most successful in the mid-1990s, with sixth place at the 1996 European Championship and a win over the later runners-up Croatia at the 1995 World Championship, but the team have failed to qualify for major championships on several occasions since. Before the Czech Republic became independent in 1993, the Czechoslovakia national team won five World Championship medals between 1954 and 1967, and qualified for every World Championship between 1954 and 1993. Bergischer Handball-Club 06 is a handball club from the cities of Wuppertal and Solingen, Germany, that plays in the Handball-Bundesliga. History The club originates from a 2006 contract between Stefan Adam, then chairman of LTV Wuppertal, and SG Solingen, incorporating the Wuppertal club's management, squad and main sponsor into the Solingen-based club and renaming it to officially represent the entire Bergisches Land, Bergisches Land region.
