''Mikunoyoasobi'' is the second extended play (EP) by Japanese Vocaloid producer and songwriter Ayase. It was originally released exclusively on CD to Tower Records Japan store on January 6, 2021, through Sony Music Entertainment Japan. Subsequently, the EP was available on streaming platforms on September 21, 2023, two years and eight months after its original release. Ayase (music Producer)
Ayase (born April 4, 1994) is a Japanese musician and record producer. He is best known as a Vocaloid producer and composer for Yoasobi, a musical duo composed of himself and vocalist Ikura. He was also a vocalist of the rock band Davinci from 2012 until its disbandment in 2020. Early life Ayase was born on April 4, 1994, in Ube, Yamaguchi Prefecture, Japan. At the age around 3 or 4, he received his first piano lessons by his grandmother who was a music teacher. When he started elementary school, he received professional piano lessons at a music school. In his later grade school years, he also learned how to play acoustic guitar after he was given an acoustic guitar as a Christmas present. The first song he learned to play on guitar was originally written by Ringo Sheena. His early musical influences were Exie, Sukima Switch, Kobukuro, Radwimps, and Aiko. Later, the song was re-released as a standalone version on July 2, to celebrate 100 million streaming figures and its own cover artwork. The English version of "Encore" was included on the duo's first English-language EP ''E-Side'', was released on November 12. The song was based on the short story ''Sekai no Owari to, Sayonara no Uta'' ("The End of the World, and the Goodbye Song") written by Kanami Minakami and won the Yoasobi Contest Vol. 1.
