Mikhail Teplinsky
Mikhail Yuryevich Teplinsky (russian: Михаил Юрьевич Теплинский; uk, Михайло Юрійович Теплинський, Mykhaylo Yuriyovych Teplynskyy; born 9 January 1969) is a Russian colonel general born in Soviet Ukraine who has served as commander of the Russian Airborne Forces since June 2022. He was awarded the title Hero of the Russian Federation in 1995. Biography Mikhail Teplinsky was born in Mospyne, in what was then the Ukrainian Soviet Socialist Republic, in the Soviet Union, on 9 January 1969. In 1987 he entered and in 1991 graduated from the Ryazan Higher Airborne Command School. He served in the 106th Guards Airborne Division stationed in Tula. He commanded an airborne reconnaissance platoon and a reconnaissance company of the 137th Guards Airborne Regiment. From 1992 to 1993, he took part in the Transnistria War. Mospyne (, ; ) is a city of district significance in the Proletarskyi District of the Donetsk municipality, Donetsk Oblast (province) of Ukraine, 8 km southeast of Donetsk. Sunzha (river)
The Sunzha ( rus, Су́нжа, p=ˈsunʐə, inh, Шолжа, Sholʒə, ce, Соьлжа, Sölƶa, p=sɥølʒə) is a river in North Ossetia, Ingushetia and Chechnya, Russia, a tributary of the Terek. It flows northeast inside the great northwest bend of the Terek River and catches most of the rivers that flow north from the mountains before they reach the Terek. It is long, and has a drainage basin of . The Sunzha rises on the Northern slope of the Caucasus Major. Its major tributaries are the Assa and Argun. Ivan Nikitich Russiyanov (; 11 September 1900 – 21 March 1984) was a Soviet Army lieutenant general and a Hero of the Soviet Union. Russiyanov served as a clerk and in staff positions after joining the Red Army during the Russian Civil War. After graduating from an infantry command school he transferred to infantry units and commanded a division during the Soviet invasion of Poland. At the outbreak of Operation Barbarossa, Russiyanov commanded the 100th Rifle Division in Belarus. He led it in the Battle of Białystok–Minsk, the Battle of Smolensk, and the Yelnya Offensive. For its actions in the Yelnya Offensive, Russiyanov's division was converted into the 1st Guards Rifle Division. The Military Academy of the General Staff of the Armed Forces of the Russian Federation (russian: Военная академия Генерального штаба Вооруженных Сил Российской Федерации) is the senior staff college of the Russian Armed Forces. The 234th Guards Air Assault Regiment is a formation of the Russian Airborne Forces. It is part of the 76th Guards Air Assault Division. History The regiment was formed on 7 June 1946 in Novgorod as the 234th Guards Air-Landing Regiment of the 76th Guards Air Assault Division. In 1947, its garrison was moved to Pskov.
