Mikhail Segal
Mikhail Yurievich Segal, (russian: Михаил Юрьевич Сегал; born 3 January 1974) is a Russian film director and writer. Biography Mikhail grew up in Oryol, Russia. As a schoolboy he was attending a theatrical studio at the local House of Pioneers (a USSR name for Technical and Fine Arts Club for children), writing plays and staging performances. By that time he shot his first short-length works with amateur cameras. In 1994 he graduated from Director Faculty of Oryol Institute of Culture (V.I. Simonenko's chair). He was composing poems and songs and performing with his band "Music To The Touch". In 1995, he entered Director Department of Russian State Institute for Cinematography ("VGIK") in Moscow ( V. Naumov's chair) but dropped studies after the first year and started shooting video clips. His first appreciable work had become "Hello, Night" for "Ser'ga" (1996). Oryol
Oryol ( rus, Орёл, p=ɐˈrʲɵl, lit. ''eagle''), also transliterated as Orel or Oriol, is a city and the administrative center of Oryol Oblast situated on the Oka River, approximately south-southwest of Moscow. Anapa
Anapa (russian: Ана́па, ) is a town in Krasnodar Krai, Russia, located on the northern coast of the Black Sea near the Sea of Azov. Population: History The area around Anapa was settled in antiquity. It was originally a major seaport (Sinda) and then the capital of Sindica. The colony of Gorgippia ( el, Γοργιππία) was built on the site of Sinda in the 6th century BCE by Pontic Greeks, who named it after a king of the Cimmerian Bosporus. In the 2nd and 3rd centuries BCE, Gorgippia flourished as part of the Bosporan Kingdom, as did its guild of shipowners, which controlled maritime trade in the eastern part of the Black Sea. "Kinoshock" Open Film Festival of CIS and Baltic countries, also spelt Kinoshok, is a film festival staged in the Black Sea resort of Anapa, Russia, each September. "CIS" refers to the Commonwealth of Independent States, comprising nine member states. History Kinoshock film festival was established in 1992. In 1997, it changed its name from Kinoshock to "Kinoshock – Open CIS and Baltic Film Festival". In 2014, the 23rd edition, the festival moved from the outskirts of Anapa to the city centre, and began opening all year round.
