Mike Vernusky
Mike Vernusky (born April 1, 1978) is an American composer, performer and record label owner. He writes music for concertized, theatrical, and filmic environments, primarily through the use of electronic media and live performance. His music has been described as "brash" by the New York Times and 'isolationist ambient' by Wire Magazine. In addition to having his works performed globally, Vernusky has made numerous speaking appearances about the urgency of artistic entrepreneurism including the EMS 2010 Festival in Shanghai and as a regular guest at El Centro Mexicano para la Musica y Artes Sonoras in Morelia, Mexico. Awards and commissions Mike Vernusky received First Prize in electronic music at the Digital Art Awards in Tokyo in 2004. Tetuzi Akiyama
Tetuzi Akiyama (Akiyama Tetsuji) (born 13 April 1964) is a Japanese guitarist, violinist, and instrument-maker. Akiyama formed the improvisation group Madhar in 1987, and the classical ensemble Hikyo String Quintet in 1994 (which also included Taku Sugimoto on cello). In 1995, Akiyama and Sugimoto formed a guitar duo, and played at venues in New York City, Chicago, and Detroit. During this time, Akiyama was also a member of Keiji Haino's Nijiumu outfit. Akiyama also formed Sutekina Tea Time (a duo with Takashi Matsuoka) and Mongoose (a trio with Taku Sugimoto and Utah Kawasaki). Alvin Augustus Lucier Jr. (May 14, 1931 – December 1, 2021) was an American composer of experimental music and sound installations that explore acoustic phenomena and auditory perception. A long-time music professor at Wesleyan University in Middletown, Connecticut, Lucier was a member of the influential Sonic Arts Union, which included Robert Ashley, David Behrman, and Gordon Mumma. Much of his work is influenced by science and explores the physical properties of sound itself: resonance of spaces, phase interference between closely tuned pitches, and the transmission of sound through physical media. Jandek is the musical alias of Houston, Texas based lo-fi folk singer Sterling Smith. Since 1978, Jandek has independently released over 45 albums without granting interviews or providing any biographical information, releasing on a self-made label "Corwood Industries". is an experimental musician, a steelpanist, composer, and visual artist. Person A member of ASCAP, Machida studied minimal art, music and film at the Tama Art University under Kuniharu Akiyama, Yoshiaki Touno, Sakumi Hagiwara and Kishio Suga. In the 1990s, Machida worked for an international cooperation in Asia and Africa.
