Mike Turner (footballer)
Michael George Elliott Turner (born 20 September 1938) is an English former professional football goalkeeper. Football career He was capped by England at youth level, but due to service in the RAF had to wait until December 1961 to turn professional when he joined Swindon Town from non-league Dorchester Town. He played 75 league games for Swindon and was part of Swindon's first ever promotion winning team in the 1962–63 season, before joining Torquay United in July 1964. He played 14 league games for Torquay over the next 2 seasons, before leaving the professional game. Bridport
Bridport is a market town in Dorset, England, inland from the English Channel near the confluence of the River Brit and its tributary the Asker. Its origins are Saxon and it has a long history as a rope-making centre. On the coast and within the town's boundary is West Bay, a small fishing harbour also known as Bridport Harbour. The town features as Port Bredy in Thomas Hardy's Wessex novels. In the 21st century, Bridport's arts scene has expanded with an arts centre, theatre, cinema and museum. The Plessey Company plc was a British electronics, defence and telecommunications company. It originated in 1917, growing and diversifying into electronics. It expanded after World War II by acquisition of companies and formed overseas companies. It was listed on the London Stock Exchange and was a constituent of the FTSE 100 Index.
