Mike Tinney
Mike Tinney is a game designer who has worked primarily on role-playing games. Career Mike Tinney was running his own live action role-playing games and working as one of the editors for White Wolf Publishing, White Wolf's ''Mind's Eye Theatre'' when he became the line manager for ''Mind's Eye Theatre''. Tinney later became Vice President of Licensing and Marketing for White Wolf, and based on his proposal White Wolf started the "ArtHaus" imprint in the late 1990s which was intended to produce more affordable game supplements. Tinney was one of the contributors to the ''Creature Collection'' from White Wolf's Sword & Sorcery imprint. In 2002 Steve Wieck stepped down as President of White Wolf, and Tinney became the new President; under Tinney, White Wolf underwent big changes, starting with significant alternations and updates to the World of Darkness. A live action role-playing game (LARP) is a form of role-playing game where the participants physically portray their characters.(Tychsen et al. 2006:255) "LARPs can be viewed as forming a distinct category of RPG because of two unique features: (a) The players physically embody their characters, and (b) the game takes place in a physical frame. ''Mind's Eye Theatre'' is a live action role-playing game (LARP) based on the White Wolf World of Darkness universe, sharing a theme and setting with the table-top role-playing game '' Vampire: The Masquerade'' and with two revisions, '' Vampire: The Requiem'' and ''Mind's Eye Theater: Vampire The Masquerade''. Steve Wieck (also credited as Stephan Wieck) is best known as one of the founders of the publishing company, White Wolf, Inc. He is also one of the original writers of ''Mage: The Ascension''. Wieck is a co-founder of DriveThruRPG which later merged with RPGNow to become OneBookShelf. Wieck is currently the CEO of OneBookShelf. ''World of Darkness'' is a series of tabletop role-playing games, originally created by Mark Rein-Hagen for White Wolf Publishing.
