Mike Palefau
Mike Palefau is an American rugby union player who plays center in 7s and wing in 15s. Palefau currently plays for the Utah Warriors having moved mid season from the Seattle Seawolves. Palefau has been playing rugby since he was 18 years old. Palefau attended Southern Utah University and played rugby for the Collegiate All-American Team. Palefau excelled in other sports at Kahuku High School and at Southern Utah University, playing defensive back in football, and as a sprinter on the track team. Palefau finished second in the 2000 Hawaii High School Championships in the 100 meter and 4x100 meter sprints. International career Palefau played for the US national 7s team. Utah Warriors (Rugby Super League)
The Utah Warriors was an American rugby union team based in Salt Lake City, Utah. The team played in the Rugby Super League in the 2011 season, but then folded in 2012. History The Utah Rugby Union made a formal request to join the Rugby Super League in 2010 and was accepted into the national competition for the 2011 season. The Utah Warriors team was formed mainly from rugby players within the state of Utah, but also attracted marquee signings such as US national players Mike Palefau and Jason Pye. The Warriors had an active roster of more than 35 players. Utah entrepreneur Sean Whalen oversaw the team's operations and Jon Law was the head coach. The Warriors finished mid-table in their conference with a 3–3 record in 2011 and did not make the play-offs. The USA Rugby Super League, usually known as the Super League, is a defunct national rugby union competition which ran from 1997 to 2012, contested by nine clubs in the United States by its last year. In the 2013 season, it was replaced by the USA Rugby Elite Cup. Old Puget Sound Beach
The Seattle Rugby Club (formerly Seattle Saracens and Old Puget Sound Beach after a merger) is a rugby union club based in Seattle. The club travels throughout the US and into Canada. In 2014 the club was ranked as the number one US club while also playing in a Canadian league based in British Columbia ( BCRU). Old Puget Sound Beach was a charter member of the now defunct USA Super League in the Pacific Coast USA Rugby territory. History Founded in 1966, Seattle RFC was a group of enthusiastic rugby players who had responded to an ad in the local Seattle Times looking to get a game of rugby going.
