2005 Rugby World Cup Sevens
The 2005 Rugby World Cup Sevens or the Melrose Cup was the fourth edition of the Rugby World Cup Sevens. The tournament was held in Hong Kong at Hong Kong Stadium. Fiji defeated New Zealand in the final to take the Melrose Cup for the second time, becoming the first team to win the competition twice. The Tournament broke all previous broadcast and attendance records, attracting a capacity audience of 120,000 spectators across for three competition days, while television coverage of the event reached over 450 million homes. Nasoni Roko
Nasoni Rokobiau, born 29 November 1979, in Vunidawa, Fiji is a rugby union player. Rokobiau has represented Fiji in their rugby sevens team, as well as Fiji in the 15 man form of the game. He has played for the Fiji national rugby sevens team since 2002, representing his country in many International Rugby Board sevens tournaments. The Rugby World Cup is a men's rugby union tournament contested every four years between the top international teams. The tournament is administered by World Rugby, the sport's international governing body. The winners are awarded the Webb Ellis Cup, named after William Webb Ellis, who according to a popular legend, invented rugby by picking up the ball during a football game. The tournament was first held in 1987 and was co-hosted by New Zealand and Australia. Four countries have won the trophy; New Zealand and South Africa three times, Australia twice, and England once. Apolosi Vonowale Satala (born 14 August 1978 in Namoli, Lautoka Fiji) is a Fijian rugby union footballer. He plays as a wing, centre, number eight and Flanker . His nickname is Apo. Viliame Satala (born 19 July 1972 in Lautoka) is a Fijian rugby union footballer. He plays as a Centre (rugby union), centre or Wing (rugby union), wing. His nickname is "The Stretcher" for his ability to flatten opposition players. Satala was named the best outside centre of the 1999 World Cup by Stephen Jones (rugby player), Stephen Jones. Norman Armstrong Senibici Ligairi (born 29 January 1976 in Nadi) is a Fijian rugby union player who usually plays as a fullback. He represents Fiji at international level in both the 15-a-side and 7-a-side game. Ligairi is to date the only Fijian to have scored two tries against the All Blacks in a game. Lepani Nabuliwaqa (born 4 June 1980, in Suva), nicknamed Leps, is a Fijian rugby union footballer. He plays as a wing. Career Nabuliwaqa was an influential member of the Red Rock sevens team which participated in Fiji domestic sevens competition in 2003-04 season. He made his debut for the Fiji sevens team when he replaced Vima Tuidraki at the 2006 USA Sevens. Ifereimi Rawaqa (born September 20, 1980 in Vuda, Lautoka, Fiji) is a Fijian rugby union player. He plays as a lock or flanker. Career In 2002, when he was still 21 when he made his test debut in the victory over Samoa, in Apia. After four matches as a substitute, he made his first start against Tonga in the 47-20 win at Prince Charles Park in Nadi, and celebrated with a well-worked try from 35 metres out when he raced onto a chip over the top from Seru Rabeni.
